“Interesting day out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2013

The giant Huay Mongkol Temple, probably the only statue that I have seen that is not a buddha..The statue actually depicts a monk that is held in very high regard and worshipped accordingly..
I visited when a local day of prayer was being performed and it was crowded but interesting to see the locals coming in and paying their respects..
Trees of gold leaves adorned the walks, and throngs of people praying and chanting over a microphone could be heard..
Pleasantly and additionally, something of a rare instance in Thailand, was free entrance..

“Good Free Tourist attraction”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2013

I thought this was definetly a good visit if you are in Hua Hin or nearby areas. It is an impressive site with beautiful gardens and walk ways. It was very busy with tourists but we went at lunch time so the morning may have been quieter. A lot of Thai people visiting here also which made it seem even better as they have great interest in it. Make sure to cover shoulders and look respectable as i was in a decent length beach dress but still felt somewhat uncomfortable in what i was wearing compared to others. Lots of stalls selling trinkets, t-shirts etc for sale. You can also see the monks walking around and saying mass. It is also a free attraction and you can get a taxi from Hua Hin to here and other sites for very cheap (We paid approx 500thb for taxi to this and floating markets and spend approx 4-5 hours so definetly a bargin!)

“very interesting statue”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

I like a big statue at the temple. I felt that the temple was very far from the Dusit Thani Hotel but many people in my group loved to go there, we went there on the way to Hua Hin Winery.

“Unique”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013

I'm no fan of temples or religious iconography, but I have to say that this was damned impressive. Different enough to earn the title.
