Kan Eng Restaurant was highly recommended by both the tut-tuts and the bellboy in the hotel. It's not hard to see why. The place was packed with what seemed to be locals and tourists, and the service was fast and efficient. More importantly, the food was delicious and affordable. My family had their tom yam, fish maw soup, vegetables, rice and an extra dish I forgot. Together with their sugar cane bottle, the meal came up to about RM70+, which was very affordable considering the portions were generous and the food delicious.
Definitely a must stop for all visitors. Take care to go early, preferably no later than half an hour after opening (12.30pm for lunch I think, and 6.30 for dinner) as otherwise you may need to wait for a seat.
Also, they have a second floor open too, so be sure to check upstairs for seats.
