Fabulous hotel and lovely surroundings. The room we stayed was of a very high standard it was large and very comfortable. The shower room was large and spacious. The bed was very comfortable and big. The surrounding area was very picturesque. Would recommend.

Room Tip: I would chose a deluxe room, well worth the extra money.

This resort is not a high rise building but arranged rows of chalets/bungalows in beautiful well kept gardens and a pool. The superior chalet is big with a "super" king size bed. The pillow and mattress were very comfortable. The bathroom was nicely decorated. However no attached bath tub. The resort gave free internet access in the rooms which worked well and also provided TV with a few satellite channels. The reception staffs could not converse well in English and can be rather rude. For example, they insisted of charging another THB600 for additional bed for my below 12 years old daughter when we say do not want it. At the end of the arguement, the reception staff told us rudely that they will still charge us even we do not want the additional bed!! How undiplomatic. Breakfast buffett spread was good with Western and Chinese food offerred. Overall it is a good hotel to stay in.

Laluna has beautiful gardens, friendly and helpful staff and a great pool. Unfortunately, the rooms need renovating, the beds need replacing (our room smelled like urine when we arrived and the smell never quite left). We had to keep asking for bathroom toiletries, towels were thin and sometimes stained and the room was sparsely furnished. However, the cheerful staff and the fact that we were there for Chiang Rai, not for Laluna, meant that we still enjoyed our stay. Laluna was not too far from town and we walked everywhere. Chiang Rai has a lively night market - try the hotpots in the Thai "food court" at the market - excellent food and a great experience! We would probably opt to pay a little more for better accommodation next time though.

We stopped at this hotel for one night on our tour of the Far East. The kids were very enthusiastic about trying out the swimming pool following a long journey from Chiang Mai, but sadly the torrential rain that quickly flooded the town put pay to that idea. In the event we were confined to our bungalow in the tropical gardens. The rooms were comfortable enough and the range of channels on the TV and availability of WiFi at least allowed us to kill some of the time while the heavens opened. We eventually braved a taxi to town, though a boat would have been more appropriate. Sadly the hotel is some distance from the town centre, so if you likewise are confined by the elements, the local options are limited. We tried the hotel bar which was all but empty and somewhat pricey, but then I guess there was little alternative. Breakfast was good, though not spectacular.

A pleasant resort hotel arranged in bungalows in beautiful gardens and a pool. However, it has all seen better days so the rooms are a bit tired and the furniture rather dated. Our room only had one bedside table which was a pain and the air conditioning was weak to say the least. The staff are friendly but reception staff were not very helpful – eg when asked for a local map they told us to go to the local supermarket and buy one! Breakfast was completely self service – eggs were served in a buffet and not freshly cooked so were greasy and not very pleasant. The coffee was always cold and they often ran out of things.
The hotel offered free internet access in the rooms which worked well and also provided TV with English language films which kept us entertained during rain storms which, given it’s monsoon season, were frequent. We hired motorbikes from the hotel which were fine and gave us independence. All in all an average hotel with some good and some not so good points.

impressive pool within fabulous tropical gardens with the rooms scattered amidst the gardens providing good privacy and romantic surroundings both by day and by night. beautiful lobby. staff at front desk not too kern to help even in a simple task as ordering a tuktuk ride into town . it spoils the overall good impression. we regretted we could only stay overmight.
