“A Favourite Wat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2014

After the second wat of the day, they usually all roll into one mixed recollection for me. Not this one. Interesting architecture, peaceful grounds, lovely temples and a very well curated museum.

“Peaceful & interesting architecture”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2014

Worth visiting. Can spend about an hour or so exploring the main temple and surrounding buildings, including small museum.
Also a short distant to Wat Phra Singh. Explored with wife and 15 year old son by bicycles. Since Chiang Rai's town is small, it can be explored by bicycle within a day.

“Beautiful temple worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2014

Chasing Rai's Way Phra Kaeo doesn't compare with its namesake in Bangkok but doesn't need to. Beautiful main Wat and very good museum with guides available to show you around the exhibits. The chance to get close to a replica of the Emerald Buddha is well worth the visit, as in BKK you cannot.

“Feel peaceful in this place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2014

A quiet and peaceful place which worth to visit.
The tale of the jade Buddha is attracting. Meet some students visiting the monk inside, and I think Thai people really do respect to monks and maintain the temples very well.

“Lots to see”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2014

We have just left this Wat and are having a well earned coffee just around the corner. This wat has quite area buildings and even a tortoise pool, the museum has many articles of interest which are worth a look at. The downside is that it is a very busy wat so if you are looking for peace and quite try Doing Ngum Muang wat around the corner and up the hill, we were there a few minutes before and had the place to ourselves, both recommended.
