If possible: do not go to this hotel! Despite what the Lonely Planet suggests, it is not at all "like home" (unless if you live in a very sad place..). It is very run down, old and noisy. The room is outdated and dirty (bed sheets, walls, bathroom, everything). Ofcourse, 800B is not a lot of money, but in Chiang Rai there are better options - even for a lower price! About the trips: I think they are not very competitive with official TAT trips from other sites in Chaing Rai. So if you have a choice: do not pick this hotel. On the upside: yes, the staff is very friendly.

We liked this hotel overall. The rooms were simply decorated and there was a pleasant garden. Just a short walk from the hotel to the night market. We also ate at the hotel restaurant one night and found the cooking was excellent. Price of the room was reasonable.

One negative was that our bathroom needed to be repaired.

I would reccomend this hotel to people who want a base close to the centre of Chaing Rai.

Low price with basic amenities.
Shabby bathroom but the room and bathroom were both very clean.
Doors and walls were very thin so did not sleep well for the 3 nights that I stayed here.

We chose this hotel mainly for it's close proximity to the night market and shops.
The room we had was comfortable and clean. There was no noise at night and the bed was comfortable.
The hotel has very few facilities, but was fine for a few nights. The breakfast was ok but nothing wonderful.
Be warned, the staff here like an early night. We were playing cards in reception at 10pm, when the owner turned all the lights off except ours and left us alone.
