Though Cordelia Serviced Apartment hotel is not at the "center of the town" (the main market, Emerald Buddha Temple etc.), and Chiangrai does not have "public transportation", It is good value. To get to town, the hotel can call a meter taxi (50 baht to get to the center- about US$ 1.70) a much better choice than Tuk Tuk  which depends on bargaining ability. Walking to the center will take about half an hour. The hotel has plenty  of parking spaces if you travel by cars

Around the hotel, there are quite a few eateries, though I'd recommend local food rather than Western attempts.

Rooms, a decent size of about 30 sq metres. Those on ground floor (I am not sure about other floors) are with a small fenced up space in the back-perfect for drying your cloth. Flat screen TV and fridge are provided in the rooms. Bathrooms with hot water are also of a decent size but without a dry area. As it is very new (about 4 months old), everything is in a shipshape condition including very clean bed sheets and towels. Free coffee and tea  are available at the reception area.

Room Tip: All rooms are "standard rooms" with either a double bed or twin beds.

This is a great place to stay, close to the Sunday Happy Street, as opposed to the Saturday Walking Street in town, this is a one minute walk from Sangkrongnoi Street and all that area has to offer, and yet is an easy trip into down town Chiang Rai as well, walkable in about fifteen minutes if you're spry, twenty minutes if not so, but there are plenty of transport options, too.
Anyway, back to Cordelia Chiang Rai, as I mentioned in the title it is very new, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff are very helpful. You can rent rooms by the month if you want to extend your stay, but if you go that way you must either provide your own linen or pay a fee (I'm not sure how much). I've stayed here now for close to three weeks and have grown to love both the hotel as a medium term home, and also the area. There are countless food options, the Happy Street :^} and just about everything you could need in close proximity, without the close encounters which go with staying to close into downtown. It's just near enough to that and still not too close!

This is a brand new guesthouse in Chiang Rai - only opened 1 month ago - and it is fabulous. The rooms are large and spacious, absolutely spotless and well worth the 450 baht. The bed was extremely comfortable; I had a wonderful night's sleep and felt well rested the next day.

The owner is very helpful - from Korea - he drove us to rent a motorbike and organised a taxi to the bus station for us. I highly recommend!
