After reading so of the feedback from SOME people i wonder what they expect, we have to day booked to go again for our tenth time, its like going home.
How anyone would not enjoy the Cha am night market, I can't understand this is a market for the locals and a great way to spend a couple of hours on a Wednesday night.
The staff are great polite and always helpful, our rooms have always been good and clean, we have missed the little extras like the biscuits and the fruit which we use to get when it was the Regent.
We have eaten at the Hotel but prefer to eat in the village, the Family restaurant is always good.
Each time we go we see many of the same people, this hotel has about 20% customers re-booking,
We have taken our daughter from the age of 6 months and for anyone with children you couldn't find a more child friendly place to go. You can get everything Nappies etc that you need.
I did have to ask the girls in the bar to stop giving my 6 month old Ritz crackers (salt content)
If you don't like it HOT it won't be the place for you.
Its great Book it

We are multi returning guests to the Holiday Inn Resort Regent Beach. We have stayed here many times - the last being last year (See trip review) and we thought things could not get better. But they did!! Well done. Full marks to the hotel.

The rooms are spacious, very clean and extremely well let. Beautiful balconies. The strong point of the hotel is its beautiful two swimming pools although this year only one was open. The grounds of the hotel as well as the interior was spotless. We ate breakfast every morning and found it to be very well presented, tasty and hot.

The real strong point for this hotel is its staff. None of them could be faulted. They really do go that extra mile to make you feel welcome. They give the appearance of being happy in their work and really do want to help guests. Nothing seems to much trouble for them.

I have noted that on occasions some guests can be particularily rude to the staff. I have been amazed and impressed at the staffs resilience towards rude guests. The hotel has a relaxing feel to it and is in a peaceful location and setting.

Will we be back again? Sure. There are a lot of returning guests to this hotel. That tells you something.

Well done to the Holiday Inn Resort Regent Beach and it's staff and managers.

Dear Hong Ying,

We were disappointed to read you were not impressed with our property. We have recently completed Holiday Inn Re-Fresh. We have upgraded the bathroom experience, introduced crisp new white linen with soft mattress toppers and a selection of firm and soft pillows. The Regency Wing is currently undergoing this process as well and we expect the rooms to be completed later this year.
We have recently reviewed and upgraded all our menu's and introduced an enhanced breakfast experience.

Thank you for sharing your feedback which we have taken onboard. We do hope we can welcome you back in the future to our Re-Freshed Resort.

The room and pool are well maintained and the service is outstanding. The building itself and parts of the grounds are rundown and in need of some serious work. The mini-golf area is especially rundown, but that didn't prevent my daughter from dragging be down on consecutive days for a few holes. The beach here (Regent beach) is the nicest in the area. There is a village a few minutes walk away, where you can have laundry and/or tailoring done cheaply and well. The locals are friendly as are all the animals around the place.
I enjoyed our meals at the hotel which were in a very pleasant environment, with service better than as most 5star resorts.
Hotel rates go up on the weekend, as Bangkok residences get away for a break so try to come midweek.
I noted another reviewer report he payed 4000 bart to get here from the airport. I was quoted 4500 from the airport, but the clerk at my airport hotel (Regent Suvarnabhubmi) arranged a car for 1200.

My family and I stayed here a week or so back. After reading the reviews I was expecting an older, rundown place. So we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of our room, bedding, bathroom, etc when we checked in.

It appears that there is a serious refurbishment going on, as one wing of the hotel was closed (though we never heard construction noises or saw workers, thankfully).

The pool was nice and large. Clean dry towels were always supplied. Food and drink was available at the pool, and was not as expensive as other poolside food in other hotels. And it was never too crowded either, despite the fact that there were several large groups staying at the hotel at the same time.

The beach was just steps away from the pool. The beach was clean, though not the nicest in Thailand. Water was brown and turbulent. If you're needing a beautiful beach, head to Phuket or Krabi. Still, our kids enjoyed walking and finding shells, sand dollars, and the rest.

And the staff were great. Always smiling, helpful, and never seemed too busy to help with special requests. Especially the room cleaning staff. They should get raises!

The only downside - and maybe I should not even mention it, as is it subjective - was the food. Generally, the food was fine. But there were a few oddities:

1) The beef burgers served poolside were terrible. Inedible. None of our friends (who also ordered them) could actually finish them. The chicken burgers, which we ordered, were just fine.
2) The beachside restaurant served horrendous vegetarian lasagne. My wife, probably for the first time ever, could not eat a meal served to her and left it sitting at the table.
3) The coffee from the lobby coffee bar was pretty bad. This made me sad. :-)

That said, ALL the other things we ordered were great! Greek salad at the beachside restaurant was impressive. Tomato, mozzarella and basil pizza was amazing, and the morning buffet breakfast was great. Food prices generally are high for Thailand, but what you'd expect at an international chain hotel.

All-in-all, we loved the place. We wish there was free WiFi, and that there were cheaper and more diverse food options, but other than that, we were pleasantly surprised and thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay.

Thank you for posting your feedback. We were delighted to read you enjoyed your Resort and Service experience with us.

It is with great disappointment we read about your food and beverage experience poolside and in Terrazzo. We have taken your feedback very seriously and are in the process of reviewing the menu’s. It is through opportunities like these we can continually improve our guest services.

Thank you again for feedback and we look forward to seeing on your next visit.

With kind regards,

We stayed four days. The room was very nice, The conference rooms were large and comfortable, the food and service were great. There were about 450 of us, and we were well taken care of. The pool is nice too, the beach is not as nice as in Phuket where we live. The only thing we didn't like was expensive wi-fi. 10 baht a minute 450 baht maximum per day but we used two I Pads and were charged the maximum on each one even though we signed in with one user name.
