“Beautiful Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2011

Myself and my husband in our 30's stayed at the hotel for 9 nights and were very impressed with the hotel rooms, the first few nights we stayed at the back of the hotel and the room was amazing superior room which was really modern however due to refurb works (drilling noise) we asked to change rooms on our 4th night and were given a deluxe room with pool view which again was an amazing room but more of the Thai influence so you pay more for pool/seaview but room quality not as great. The staff were very attentive ad welcoming and as the last review states the band were great. Only issue we had was that when we booked we thought the hotel was on Chaam beach which it is not, we went into Hau Hin most nights which is only 25 mins away and the hotel provide a cheap shuttle bus. Chaam beach is about 15 mins drive. The hotel is located in a lovely seculded area and there is a small village around the corner but as we were there low season it was not busy - am advised it is very busy in high season. I could not fault this hotel other than the location : )

living in BKK and go to cha am quite often, decided to try the holiday inn, was not expecting much - what a fool, the serviceand the staff are fantastic , was very very impressed, yes okay hotel is massive and needs a bit of updating - which is happening but then again i liked the retro aspect which is in vogue is it not? the food also was very good and the bread amazing - sometimes a bit difficult in thailand to please us westerners with bread, but not at the holiday inn ! also would like to mention the singers who were fantastic. i enjoyed my weekend and will be popping back am sure!!

stayed for 8 nights. Peaceful - very few guests (low season) so no problem getting a sunbed. Smart large room and balcony overlooking sea and pool. Extremely comfortable bed. Staff were all friendlly and helpful. Everywhere was clean - heard no complaints from other guests. The little village outside hotel had some good cheap restaurants but the food a bit samey. The hotel restaurant was of course more expensive but very tasty food and good value anyway. A great place to stay after a trip to the cities and Chaam night market was a great authentic experience (rather than all the tourist tat you can get at Hua Hin or Bangkok)

3 weeks stay.
Triple room to share with my 2 teenagers was fine, as well as the bathroom, cleaning staff were doing a great job twice a day, flowers were always freshly added in the room and decorating our pillows.
cleaning of the main pool was substandard as my kids found feces at the bottom and we had quite some problem to allert the pool attendant who was refusing to close the pool to other guests while he was cleaning.
Beach is great for walks, but the amount and size of jellyfishes is a huge deterrent to sea activities.
The hotel is very quiet most of the time but can get a insane when they have company events: groups of people shouting and running around, speakers blasting on the beach and poolside, if you notice such event is coming up, better plan an outside day.

Sawasdee….hkfrenchie

Thank you for sharing your feedback on your stay with us in July last year. Glad to hear you enjoyed the cleanliness of our guest rooms and the beautiful flowers, which are in such abundance in our gardens. We were very sorry to hear about the pool incident. We pride ourselves on our cleanliness and hygiene standards in our hotel as you experienced in our guest rooms. The pool was cleaned immediately and treated overnight following this incident. The private beach area at the doorstep of the resort is one of our many great assets, unfortunately jellyfish occur at different times of the year based on currents.

We cater to a large variety of guests who utilize the large grounds of the resort.

Once again I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your invaluable feedback and we do hope to welcome you back to Holiday Inn Resort Regent Beach Cha-am in the future.

With warm regards,
The Management Team

We stayed at this hotel as an add-on after a tour of Thailand. We were exhaused and this place was perfect to wind down and relax. The pool and the beach were great but we spent most of our time wandering around the huge (huge!) gardened areas and lakes around the hotel. My partner (a birdwatcher) was blown away by the wildlife, fabulous birds, monitor lizards and butterflies, while I enjoyed the flowers and trees and the tranquillity of it all. Food was excellent and I did a course on vegetable carving which was great fun. At first we were given a room looking out onto some old sheds and asked to change. This was done with no fuss at all and we were given a corner room where we looked down onto some tall trees and had exotic birds and butterfiles so close you could almost touch them. As other people have said, it is very quiet but you could get a taxi into a more lively area if you wanted to and shops and restaurants are a short walk away.

we have previously visited the holiday inn, in cha am, which we really enjoyed, unfortuantly the hotel and staff have changed dramatically in the past 18 months. the hotel no longer has extremelly welcoming staff, the are all plesent but have lost that thai charm. the hotel is in desperate need of some tlc, the fun bar is completely ridden with mould and is in desperate need of renivating. we requested a room up grade in which we paid for as the standard room is extremely basic and views of the back of the hotels generator!! the beach bunglows were definatly worth the extra cost. The beach is extremelly quiet and not used by the guests due to sand flies and jellyfish. the local restaurent called the family resturant is definatly worth a visit serving excellent thai food and fantastic service.the hotel its self is rally quiet which makes it relaxing for guests, the pools and terraces are well looked after, look out for the 7 foot lizard who occasionally makes an appearence.

Lovely room with a big balcony overlooking the pool and sea behind. Mostly clean but I noticed there sticky marks on the bathroom door (suncream I think) that were not cleaned during our stay, so maybe only superficially clean.
Hotel full of elderly people escaping the northern european winter. They seemed to have the sunbeds sussed and there was not one to be had round the pool after 09:00, mainly due to good tipes to the staff we guess! We found this a bit irritating at first but by the end of the holiday we thought it was a brilliant way to spend your winter in this lovely country.
We didn't find the service good in the hotel, we were asked if we wanted breakfast when we arrived, but were not told if we didn't pay there and then we had to pay double the price offered at check in. We tried the breakfast the first morning and didn't really find it worth the cost, and the waiters and waitresses miserable. In fact most of the staff were pretty unlike the Thai people we met out of the hotel, I suggest management needs to take a close look at this and try to find out what is wrong.
The bars and restaurants always seemed to be pretty empty so we didn't eat in the hotel again. The drinks even in happy hours were not nearly as good value as the village prices.
Outside of the hotel the small village (love to know the name of it) was great and the local people delightful. One reviewer said she thought it unsafe, this is absolubtly not the case, it was totally relaxing and pleasant to stroll down the road in the evening.
We particularly liked the Blue Bell Bar which was great value with lovely owners and service. Our favourite restuarant was The Mermaid , the owner Jeab was so kind and helpful to us (my husband has recently had some major surgery making eating difficult). She and her fantastic staff especially Peat who is exceptionally lovely, were probably the best thing about our whole holiday, and the food was beautiful.
