“Nice gardens and pool but ripped off by hotel staff”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2012

Just returned from this hotel with my family of husband and two kids. First for the positives - the hotel is nice and the gardens and pool area are lovely. The kids play room was great and the xbox's were a hit with my 11 and 8 year old boys.

Negatives - Immediately on arrival the male receptionist stated that the room we had been allocated was going to be too small for our party. I insisted that the travel agent had assured us the rooms would be adequate for two adults two kids. We were shown to a room on the 14th floor with one bed !!!!! I asked about the other beds and was told that they could give us a roll away for an extra cost of £20 per nite or upgrade us to a junior suite for £25 per night. As we were very tired we took the upgrade however it was my intention to contact the travel agent the next morning. I did this and was told that the hotel stated that they did not want to charge for a roll away and we had insisted on the upgrade.

All in all a very disappointing experience which I would not have expected from a chain hotel such as the Marriott. My advice to other travellers would be to avoid this hotel or be very careful of the underhand practices of upselling.

Room Tip: All rooms have sea view which is very nice

I spent 2 nights here, very nice view and peaceful place.
The room is very tidy and clean. However, the location is quite from far Hua Hin Night market.
The breakfast restaurant is quite hot (no air-con) and not varieties of food.

I had stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. It was re-branded to be "destination hua hin" (not Courtyard by Marriott). The room is average decoration but comfy. The most that I like is stunning panoramic sea view from my room (every room). During the long weekend, there was some mistake in service like late cleaning up the room because the staff is not enough.

There are only 3 small lifts and not enough for the guests during the long weekend.

Driving to Hua Hin city may require about 30 minutes. So, this hotel could be considered if you'd like to stay in the hotel and enjoy their facilities.

Overall, this hotel is quite nice and the rate is reasonable. It will be re-branded again to be Novotel on May 2012.

If you are traveling with young kids then this is surely a good property to stay in. Its a good 4 star property. its not in main Huahin or Chaam area but in between and right on the beach. its quiet compare to the main areas of Chaam / Huahin. its approx 10 min from Main Chaam and 20 min from main huahin.
Rooms are simple. Not luxiours but no complains.
We stayed in Jr Suite so it was very spacious as it was 1 bedroom and 1 living room. It was very comfortable for 2 adults and 2 Child with a sofa bed. This room type can easily take 3 Ad and 2 chd or 2 Ad and 3 chd easily with 1 extra bed too.
Breakfast buffet line is also good. They have children pool with sliders too which children loves.
Kids rooms are good time past as children can do lot of activities like doll painting, gel candles, batik paints - but these have to be paid. My children enjoyed thier gel candles making and sea shell photo frames classes.
Thier games room are free and they have different games for different ages.
Spa was also good but will recommend to book in advance as they are quiet full on weekends.
Avoid weekends as its always full due to localls. Locals loves to travel to huahin on weekend.
We went on weekend so it was quiet noisy at the pool & kids rooms. ..But overall Kids loved it and we will surely go back again very soon.
Surely recommended for the families..

Good place to stay if looking for a quiet holiday overall. The pool area is well appointed with plenty of sunbeds available and a water slide should you wish to use it, and grassed area where shade is provided under the trees. The rooms are clean and spacious but do not have a mini bar. The breakfasts are buffet type with a very large choice to suit all tastes available. Owing to the hotel being 20+ floors high, there can be a wait for the lift especially at breakfast times as it is served on the 3rd floor. Outside the hotel is very quiet with a small selection of restaurants and bars on the street outside

Room Tip: Try and have a room on the lower floors unless you have a head for heights and don't mind waitin...

Very nice facilities overall. Green area, with nice things with attention to details for family and friends to enjoy staying in. Dinner facilities over weekend could be overbooked.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2012

Went on vacation here with my wife and daughter and we really enjoyed our time mostly relaxing by the pool and swimming. The staff service is quite good as they do seem to go out of their way to smile and be sure you're more than satisfied. The atmosphere of the pool area is excellent as the pool is huge, there are plenty of lounge chairs, as well as lots of palm tree shade coverage if you need relief from the sun. We used Hua Hin Taxi Service and paid 4000 Baht for round trip transfer from the Bangkok Airport, though I'm sure there are plenty of options out there for transportation.

Pros:

1) Huge pool with great poolside atmosphere and adequate lounge chairs, hammocks, etc.
2) Beach access is very convenient and overall not bad but simply doesn't compare to the pristine beaches you'll find in Southern Thailand.
3) Kid's area is more than adequate and offers plenty of things to occupy even pre-school aged children.
4) Fitness room is good with several treadmills and dumbbells but not extravagant.
5) Breakfast, which was included with our room rate, is very good and open up until 11:30 AM so sleeping late doesn't keep you from being able to partake.
6) Rooms are good though seemed a touch smaller than your average hotel room. Included a great view of the ocean from the balcony.

Cons:

1) Hua Hin is a 500-600 Baht taxi ride (round trip) and probably the best nearby option for shopping and Western chain restaurants (at least the fast food kind - Burger King, McDonald's, etc).
2) The hotel is somewhat isolated from the hustle and bustle of the area - which is great if all you want to do is lounge by the pool but can get old if you need more activities to occupy your three year old.
3) Beach is there but isn't the best, though we swam a few minutes one afternoon and it was fine if you watch the overabundance of shells out there that can cut your feet.

Overall, we certainly enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back here again if we were looking for a place to just chill and enjoy a low key time of swimming, reading, and recharging. The overall feel of the place, as well as the pricing of the hotel restaurant and convenience store really make it possible to never leave the place and be completely content. Though there's plenty in the vicinity if you need a change: 7Eleven out the back, plenty of places will do laundry cheaply as well as a great beach side restaurant Platoos serving good Western food and great Thai food down the beach to the right.
