“Perfect quiet place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2011

We spent 8 days last April in an island villa:spacious and spotless clean room with all you need,we enjoyed the second outdoor shower, the lovely terrace and the comfy large bed.Though surrounded by waters,we got no mosquitos!correct food and great breakfast, nice quiet beach and helpful, kind staff and manager.
We did a great and cheap country tour with Boss himself -------_-------@ymail.com,enjoyed a very friendly Similan tour with Moo Moo of Fantastic Similan Travel, had a great time at Moo Moo Cabaret Show.We used several times in the morning the complementary bikes.

Definitely the place to go to relax!

Room Tip: get an island villa!

Really nice place. A little paradis. Friendly staff, good service, a great place to relax, offers many interesting tours (cooking school, visit to an orphanage and helping the children with donation, daily taxi to khao lak town if you want to go for shopping, ...). We can recommand this place to everybody who enjoys nature and wants to slow down and relax!

We booked this hotel based on the above-average reviews.

+ very calm and isolated

- villa and the whole resort was not very clean (especially bathroom, floor, indoor-shower)
- breakfast in buffet-style outside but no cooling of the food
- very poor and expensive new years buffet (chicken was medium rare!! and cold)
- only a few beach chairs, very few umbrellas
- once, i ordered a garlic chicken which tasted like fish (although it was chicken)

we would not recommend this hotel!!!!!

HaadsonRsvn, Manager at Haadson Resort, responded to this review, May 11, 2011
Thank you to TripAdvisor member "VIKIAUSWIEN" for providing the review of their stay at Haadson.

The client stayed with us in a Villa for 7Nights during the Peak period from 29Dec.2010 to 05Jan.2011.

We are very sorry, and also very surprised to hear of their negative comments.

Regarding the New Year Buffet, we did not have a typical compulsory hotel styled New Year Gala dinner on the 31December 2010.
Instead, our Manager and the F&B staff optioned for an informal Thai style barbeque buffet dinner. This dinner was not compulsory and all guest were provided with full menu details.
The price of the buffet dinner was set at under 1000THB per head.
There was a variety of dishes available, in addition to various Thai demonstration food stations and also a barbeque station.
The whole dinner experience and also the buffet line can be viewed on our HaadsonHappening blog.
Considering the price and amount of quality dishes available and the atmosphere for the buffet,
the price of the dinner was very competitive.

Our daily breakfast during the peak periods is a buffet.
As a small beach resort, our breakfast is set in an intimate setting of the Terrace Restaurant.
Guest can choose to enjoy breakfast under the Thai Sala, or on the timber deck.

The whole breakfast setting very much matches with the greenery and style of the resort.
We constantly improve on our buffet options based on input we received from our guest.
The following currently forms part of our buffet breakfast:
Fruit juices / salad bar with cheese plate & yoghurt / cereal & muesli station
up to x3 variety of homemade breads & pastries / homemade jams with recipes from our guest
egg station with cook for personal orders / pancakes & waffles / assortment of hot dishes both western and Thai.

During the clients stay, they did not voice any complaints to our staff or our Manager as to the quality of the New year dinner, the breakfast, nor any of the dishes served from our Restaurant.
We were not informed that they felt our House keeping staff performed their duties below par.

The only comments that was handled by our reception staff was a request for additional duvet blankets, to assist with their in-room safe on the day of their arrival, and the lack of available beach chairs. We apologized to our guest who stayed with us during this past peak period regarding the limited number of beach chairs. Due to an unexpected high level of occupancy at a specific time, we were not able to provide an ample amount of chairs to support all the guest. We did in fact order additional beach chairs, but as we use custom made teak timber from Bangkok, the supplier was not able to build the chairs in time. We solved the problem during the time by providing foldable canvas chairs as a supplement. We now have adequate numbers of beach chairs to service our guest.

Both management and staff were under the impression that the clients enjoyed their stay;
The clients also booked x2 separate day tours through our tour desk and also their return transfer back to Phuket airport.
We did not receive their negative feedback during their stay nor after their departure in January.

If such comments were made to management prior to their departure, we would have been able to talk to the clients and see what additional measures could have been provided.

Thank you & Best Regards,
Haadson Resort (Haadson Bangsak Co., Ltd)

Although Haadson Resort is only a couple hours flight from Bangkok, it feels like a world away. It's quiet, quaint, and extremely relaxing. Upon arrival, you are greeted by name -- the owners are very welcoming, and the staff are genuinely kind and eager to serve.

The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated, have comfortable beds, big bathrooms, and air conditioning! The pool is very nice, and I was able to lay out in the sun and take a quick nap without any distraction. There is also a massage spa on the premises with very skilled therapists. The food served at the resort is delicious and reasonably priced. They have Thai cuisine as well as European & Western dishes (seriously, the french fries are really good!). However, my favorite part of the resort's restaurant was the all-you-can-eat breakfast -- pancakes, waffles, eggs/omelettes, fruit, cereal, yogurt, bacon -- all my favorites. Make sure you order a banana milkshake from the wait staff (for breakfast, lunch, and dinner)!! You will not be disappointed.

The beach is right across the resort-- the waters are calm and the sand is soft. It's peaceful and not overcrowded by tourists. There are some good seafood joints down the street if you want to venture out from the resort restaurant. The Haadson staff are more than happy to recommend where to eat and what to order. The town of Khao Lak is a short 15min (free) shuttle ride from the resort where you can purchase some souvenirs and knick knacks. There are also many areas to explore by boat an hour away from the resort. You can plan your excursions via the friendly Haadson staff.

As others have reviewed, the Haadson Resort is a hidden gem. I loved my time there, but what truly made my stay a memorable and wonderful experience were the people. I was always greeted with a warm smile, and it felt like the staff was very dedicated to making my stay a most enjoyable one!

This hotel is a little gem. Situated 15 minutes north of Khao Lak (free daily shuttle to and from the town), the Haadson is quiet and secluded and set in lush, tropical, beautifully maintained grounds. The villas are well positioned with spacious, well appointed interiors and good outside space.

The restaurant is great, offering reasonably priced, freshly cooked food, mostly Thai but some European style dishes too. Good value nightly specials. All you can eat breakfast buffet sets you up for the day!

There’s an excellent Spa, tranquil and spotlessly clean and with skilled and charming therapists. The staff throughout the hotel are delightful – friendly, helpful and efficient.
The Haadson is on a lovely part of Bangsak Beach. The sea is calm and warm as bathwater. The white sand beach is miles long and seems to be a well kept secret as it’s virtually empty.

The hotel is ideally placed for exploring the area. Khao Sok National Park, Phang Nga Bay, the Similan and Surin Islands are all within an hour’s reach and there are numerous other trips out, easily organised – just ask at the front desk. Be aware all trips have to paid for in cash not with a card. Would recommend travelling in small groups – ask for Eim, who has local knowledge, knows how to avoid the worst of the crowds at tourist hotspots and is an excellent driver.

If you’re looking for a good value hotel with a laid back atmosphere and in a beautiful, quiet location then the Haadson delivers.

We spent 5 nights at Haadson on our Honeymoon after recomendation from friends. This place is super relaxing, quiet and low key (a good thing in my opinion). The beach out the front is really nice and the small size of the resort means the beach is uncrowded. There is also a great pool that we often had to ourselves.

The highlight was the dinner they organised for us on the beach the night we arrived. Very romantic with great food - I highly recomend this and it can be organised prior to arrival. Its a bit pricey in comparison to a normal meal at the resteraunt but totally worth it in my opinion.

There are also some small resteraunts near by that are worth a visit for tasty food and to get outside the resort for a walk.

We also organised a couple of tours through the friendly reception staff which was easy and great fun.

Overall, well worth checking this place out if you are after an affordable relaxing resort serviced by super friendly staff.

I visited Khao Lak during the low season and oh my gosh, it's really quiet. The resort looks a bit rundown but the staff are working hard to put things back in place before the high season. Noise level is kept very low. Bangsak beach is spectacular because it is not "polluted" by deck chairs and colorful beach umbrellas.

Kanit from Reservations attended to all my emails and enquiries. Thank you for all the prompt replies, last minute changes (my flight was cancelled on the day I was supposed to fly) and free upgrade to an Island Villa. Kanit is going on leave during my stay but no problem, I was informed through email to look out for staff (from the various departments) who would be on duty.

Upon arriving, I had lunch at Bangsak Garden (short walk - right side of resort). Food is alright but I would highly recommend Kontongsu (about 10 min walk - left side of resort). Better variety and the boss is really friendly and speaks good English. One evening after dinner, we spotted fireflies while walking back to Haadson. We took the hotel shuttle to Khao Lak Centre one afternnoon. Nothing much but we manage to eat our favourite banana pancake. The dinner arranged by the resort's F & B team was really good. We had grilled fish and lobster thermidor. They specially arranged and decorated a table for us. One evening, we had the opportunity to take the hotel shuttle with another couple to Takuapa town and experience a local celebration of the "Vegetarian Festival".

Knowing that Khao Lak was badly devastated by the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami, I informed Kanit that I would like to make a donation (eg. children's clothes) and asked if the resort supports local charity organisations. Sure they do, they suggested "Duang Prateep". Kanit and the staff contacted the orphanage and liaise on my behalf. Besides the clothes, the orphanage do not mind the daily necessities (eg. detergent, rice, toothpaste, shampoo, talcum powder etc). I informed Haadson that I have managed to raise about 8000 baht and they went to find out the prices of each item for me. They emailed me a list and the quantity of the items for my approval. Just before my arrival, they purchased the items and kept them at the back of their reception counter. I enquired about the transport cost to bring all these items and the clothes to the orphanage. Without hesitation, they gave me a 50% discount off the usual charge which is 800 baht. 2 hotel staff loaded all the stuff and brought us to the orphange. Initially, I thought we are just dropping off the things and we would leave immediately however, I was wrong. The hotel staff stayed with us and we ended up chatting with the person in charge and even had a tour of the place. The children held on to our hands and showed us their dormitory and neat wardrobes. They practice their English with us and showed us the things that they have done (eg. growing of mushroom, vegetable & orchid, building of a mud house, drawings). I could see their happiness and appreciation when we distributed the sweets. I guess to them, it's a rare treat.

Kanit, Mr Sukdej, Mr Poy, Ms Lek, Mr Peak, Mr Lam, Ms Aey etc I am deeply grateful for all the things that you have done to make my stay and trip so special and meaningful!!! This review is really late (kindly accept my apologies!!!).
