“Great value in low season”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2014

Good location, good service. Room was clean. The canal running through the resort was definitely hurting, as others have mentioned. They need to get that fixed. We stayed here a couple of nights while doing some diving during the day, and the price was excellent (800 BHT at the time).

Beach is not amazing, but it's nice, and a quick walk up or down the beach to better locations. The pool is large and very nice.

We were happy with our stay and felt like the value was excellent.

Firstly the resort is well situated next to the town and the beach. The pool is small but absolutely aqdequate for cooling off. The villas are very modern very clean and the outdoor rain shower is a delight.
I had a garden villa nd it was very peaceful.
btw. no idea about the towel thing there was no one up early or no reservations or anything to comment on here, plenty of beds to choose from
This is really really good value for money in the area and would recommend it to al.

I stayed in a garden room (lovely location - private and peaceful) and overall thought the room and grounds were lovely, but the stench coming from the sewer (??) needs to be addressed. You can smell it when taking a shower, and elsewhere on the grounds. On a positive note I thought the location was ideal for easy access to town yet away from hustle, sunsets lovely, and staff attentive. The food could certainly be improved - average at best. The good outweighs the bad, and seemed fairly priced - a big plus.

We loved this place. We had booked a beach front bungalow however when we arrived were told the bungalow was not available until the following day. We were offered a deal on a bungalow one row back which we chose to stay there the whole time.

The restaurant is in a beautiful location although we only ate breakfast there, which was fine. The beach is lovely and the resort is definately at the better end of the beach. A short stroll to the restaurants and bars and there is a good selection to suit all tastes. This area is definately suited to the family market . The resort staff are friendly and helpful. I didn't find the room basic it met all our needs. The outside shower was private and different, strangely liberating.. Swimming pool is beautiful and clean.

My only negative would be the poor lighting in and around the bungalows. It could be improved. We had a small torch which proved invaluable. Would definately stay at this resort and area again.

Room Tip: Even most of the second row bungalows offer good views

No, I won't complain about the towel thing (occupying the beachfront sunbeds all day) as so many other reviewers have done. It was not an issue at all for us, as the hotel was only half full in mid-March. But I must point out a couple of things that other reviewers seem to have missed entirely. For example, there is a khlong (drainage channel, or less euphemistically, an open sewer) running right through the middle of the property!!! How come no-one bothered to mention that!? There's fish and birds in it, so it cannot be all that toxic, but it doesn't look very nice and it stinks!

The beach here is ok but not great, esp. at low tide--rocky, murky, only sparsely fringed with trees. You're much better off heading north for another 10 km to White Sand Beach (aka Pak Weeb beach) and hanging out there--which is what we did after a couple of miserable days here. Just take a song-taw taxi for 300 baht to get there. It's gorgeous.

On the good side, the rooms (we had standard, connecting rooms on the 2nd or middle floor of the main building) were extremely spacious, well appointed, functional, clean and pleasant. Very good value for money. They had only leafy views though. So beware, when they say the "best" sea view is from the third floor, it means that the third floor rooms are the ONLY ones to have any sea view at all, and probably only partial. No sea views from the 2nd floor or the ground.

Staff was nice and generally helpful, esp. Khun Jist the manager who's an awesome and wonderful lady who cheerfully accommodated various change requests for us.

Pool is very nice, but perhaps a bit small for a property this size. I wonder if it gets crowded when the hotel is full.

Breakfast at their restaurant (right on the beachfront but, again, also right next to the mouth of the stinky khlong) was overpriced and very average, so we ate mostly elsewhere, as there are many options within walking distance.

Room Tip: Bungalows seem nice but lack privacy and are clustered a bit close. Rooms in the main building very...

The hotel is set in the most beautiful location. Beachfront, with the rising expanse of jungle visible behind. The beach is metres away, the infinity pool has wonderful views of the sea and has a bar so you can sit and drink whilst daydreaming...but really, the staff are the most incredible thing about this hotel. Never anything but the most friendly people you can imagine, willing to cater to any need you could possibly have.

Only downside is that the rooms are a little basic - but it's the sort of place you shouldn't be spending any time in your room anyway! Plus they're fairly cheap.

Room Tip: Beach bungalows all the way.

After having a not so great night at NTBR2, we moved to NTBR1 to a base floor room as this was all that was available. Despite this being on the bottom floor, we could still see some of the water as we were positioned between the bungalows. The room was very clean and the staff were very helpful to make us feel welcome. The location of this resort is perfect... it's close to the shops/restaurants but still very peaceful. The free wifi was also appreciated!

We needed a late check out as our flight wasn't until 9pm and the staff were very helpful. They had another group booked into our room straight after us so they gave us a different room in the block across the road to stay in for the afternoon. Since we were checking out so late, we were required to pay half the room rate which we were fine with but even offered us a cheaper room for the afternoon so it wasn't too costly for us (not that we minded as the rooms are so affordable anyway). They also came to our room with the golf cart to help us move our luggage to the new room which was lovely of them. We only had hand luggage bags and were more than willing to do this ourselves but they insisted to help us.

Prior to staying here we really had our heart set on a bungalow but after staying in the rooms, we were very pleased. Some of bungalows were not very private as they had footpaths very close to their balconies but this would depend exactly which bungalow you are in. All options are very good value for money.

The restaurant at NTBR1 was ok - great setting being practically on the beach but it was a little over priced (as most resorts are). It was a great option for when we were too hot to walk up the main street though. If you didn't want to venture too far I'd recommend walking along the beach to NTBR2 for lunch/dinner. Their food is a little cheaper and really tasty - especially the beef penang curry.

My only criticism is the towels on sunbeds. My fiance and I were never able to get a lounge close the beach in the 5 days we were there and we were up by 8am! As mentioned in a previous review, those 'reserving' sunbeds seemed to all help each other out and watch their belongings didn't get moved. There were some people that didn't end up using their sunbed until 2pm after being out all morning. We couldn't believe how inconsiderate these people were. By the pool was similar but not as bad. I don't know how much can be done about this but it really drove us nuts by the end of our stay. We just ended up laying on the sand and giving up on the lounges! This was really the only negative about our stay and given the number of positives, we would still stay here again for sure.
