The Manathai Khao Lak is a beautiful and relaxing beach resort. My overall experience was excellent.
The booking process was very professional, friendly and fast. The reservation staff Warawuth Nopparithe and Panawan Api handled my reservation in the best possible way. From pick up at the airport over check in to leaving the hotel everything worked perfectly.
This is a really good place to get away from it all, to read, relax and take long walks along the beautiful, lonely beach. I stayed for three nights all by myself. I can highly recommend this place to single travelers during low season. During high season it might get a little loud and crowded by the pool.
I was in a Pool Villa for three nights and really enjoyed it. Everything is brand new since the hotel only opened a few months ago. The little private plunge pool is actually quite nice. There is excellent high speed WLAN in and around the hotel. There are only four Pool Villas and three Garden Villas. They do offer a bit of privacy even though they stand very close together. Beside the seven villas the rest of the hotel is regular rooms (around 150) in two story buildings that looked nice to me, too.
The grounds, the pool and the pool bar… Everything is well maintained and very clean. All the staff I have met during my stay were extremely friendly and well trained. They all spoke very good English, too.
Be aware that this hotel is in a very secluded area. There is nothing around the hotel except beach and dschungle which I loved. You can walk along the beach to a massage place (about 10 mins) and to a number of really simple but outstanding beach restaurants (about 15-20 mins).
If you have little children, this hotel may not be your first choice. There is nothing really to do, the walks to outside restaurants are quite far and there is no extra pool for children.
Many European guests, a lot of Germans, no Russians (yet).
Can’t wait to return in December.
