“Perfect Honeymoon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2013 via mobile

We had a 10 day stay at The Sarojin in October as part of our honeymoon. It was a truly magical stay. Right from the start where we were picked up at the airport with fresh scented flannels (a continuing theme) and a drink in our private car we knew it was going to be a special stay. Our poolside room was divine. Beautifully presented and we arrived to a floral arrangement saying happy honeymoon and similar displays after each day trip. A very special personal touch.

The Edge restaurant on the beach served the finest Thai food we've ever tasted. Beautiful fresh seafood with incredible Thai flavours and all kinds of other glorious dishes.. We also did the waterfall private dining experience which while expensive was unforgettable.. 2000 lit candles guiding you up to a dining table by a stunning waterfall.. Unforgettable.

We would also recommend organising day trips with the hotel as you get the real royal treatment.. The trip to the Similian Islands was not only stunning geographically but also was accompanied by a massive banquet with lobster, squid and many other delicacies. Also Phang Nga bay is very much worth a visit. Remarkable area.

All in all a very special stay. A big thank you to the events manager who was so enthusiastic in organising our trips.. We highly recommend it for honeymoon, anniversary or just a very special holiday for a couple.

It is difficult to put into words what a truly stunning hotel, the Sarojin is. It is rare to find a hotel that manages to blend 5 star luxury with such wonderfully understated but exceptional service by staff the hotel should be proud of.

The location and gardens are breathtaking, and the beach is straight out of a postcard....beautiful blue-green sea and white sands.

The rooms were of the expected high standard, and always well serviced.

The all day a la carte breakfast is a treat and experience in its own right, as is the resturant overlooking the sea.

The day trip to the Similan Islands was an amazing experience and well worth the investment..

Cannot fault the Sarojin and its staff and look forward to visiting again!

Room Tip: Make sure to specify a room with the couples pool!

This hotel fulfilled so much for both myself and my husband. Having just completed a busy tour of Bangkok and Chiang Mai it was so lovely to arrive at the Sarojin ready to enjoy a restful six days before returning to the UK. on arrival we were greeted by members of staff with a lovely Thai tea. The extra special surprise was that, because it was our silver wedding anniversary we were upgraded to a suite. We were so amazed. The room was superb and had a separate sitting room, two toilets, a 360' large bath, rain shower and alternative normal shower and kitchen area. We had two televisions. Outside there was a large terrace with table chairs, sun umbrella and circular pool which was heated by the morning sun. We were located opposite the pool area and a 2min walk to the beach area. The sand was white and the sea emerald green. It stretched for miles and was really secluded.
We did not take up any of the excursions or other opportunities at the hotel because we just wanted to rest.
The food in the hotel was expensive. We did not eat there because of the cost but wished however we had eaten at one of their themed nights as the food looked superb. There are one or two restaurants on the beach along from the hotel which were very cheap and tasty.
The breakfast at the hotel was lovely, you could have whatever you wanted along with a glass of bubbles! We were really pampered. If you are thinking of a honeymoon destination, this is the place to go.

Room Tip: All the rooms are fab.

My husband and I stayed here at the Sarojin for five nights as part of a holiday to celebrate my husbands 40th birthday. This hotel absolutely has everything we were looking for. We both work very hard in our day to day lives so was looking for somewhere to sit back and relax. From the minute we arrived at the Sarojin we felt completely relaxed. We stayed in a Pool Residence, the rooms are spacious, clean, beautifully decorated with all the toiletries including mosquito repellent you could need. The pool and garden were very tidy, the perfect place to relax.

The Sarojin breakfast was out of this world, I looked forward to it each morning. From the moment you arrived for breakfast the staff could not do enough for you, from being offered a wide range of hot drinks, fruit juices and sparkling wine, to the extremely high quality of food. I have to mention the beautiful young lady who served the pastries each morning, her smile just added the finishing touch to a perfect setting.

The staff cannot do enough for you they really do go that extra mile to ensure you are relaxed and comfortable. The minute you walk onto the beach, the beach staff are ready to make up your sun bed with lovely clean white towels. You don't have to wait long before cold glasses of water are served along with refreshing watermelon, all complimentary.

The food at the Sarojin is some of the best we have ever experienced, the evening meals served in a beachside restaurant with candle lit tables, Absolutely stunning. The meals were just as excellent in the seafood restaurant located around the Lilly pond. The sound of the frog chorus during the evening just adds to the very calm stunning setting.

We borrowed the complimentary bikes from the hotel which was a great way to get out to see some of the local sights, certainly worth doing.

What else can I say other than each day I look forward to retuning to this hotel. The staff, the perfectly kept gardens, the very clean beautiful rooms, the great food and amazing staff make this hotel one I will certainly be returning to.

This hotel provides you with your own piece of tranquility, it's the first time I have been on holiday (I have travelled many places all over the world) and actually had a lump in my throat when it came to leaving.

To the management and staff at the Sarojin, thank you for a perfect holiday, you should all be extremely proud of your achievements. We will be back again very soon.

Beautifully designed, really relaxing, fabulous position, and almost perfect - but they did get a couple of things wrong (failing to collect us from the airport as we had arranged for one), and I'm a bit disappointed that whilst neighbouring hotels did use signs warn about the infestation of huge jellyfish which made swimming in the sea unwise, the Sarojin didn't mention this. Food in the main restaurant is really expensive - if excellent. Imagine top-of-the range London prices. But the beach restaurant is better value, and there are really cheap places just along the beach. Advertised as child free, for 5 days it was blissfully quiet, especially at the fantastic swimming pool - the best I can recall anywhere. But on our final day, a family with teenagers arrived and ruined the peaceful ambience of the pool. Maybe it should be advertised as Couples Only. The spa is also fabulous. So - all in all - really recommended, and I was close to giving it 5 stars, but it's just not quite there

This was the final stop of our honeymoon and what an end it was! I had read the reviews on here before booking and they're all true!
On arrival we were told that we had received a complimentary upgrade (this was without telling them in was our honeymoon too!) and the suite was bigger than our flat at home, very simple and stylish with two of pretty much everything - showers, toilets, baths, outdoor areas. The outdoor space in the hotel is as beautiful as it looks on the official photos which is rare and the service was impeccable.
No, the breakfast, the amount of comments about the breakfast in the other reviews has made me laugh, how good could it be?? It was amazing! The menu is large and varied, pastries, juices, fruits, meats, cheeses and lots of hot breakfast options. So different to the breakfast buffets you get in other hotels.
The area of Khao Lak itself we found a little disappointing but we were there in November so it may have just been too early in the season. However, we were only there for 3 days so didn't feel too much need to leave the paradise of the hotel anyway :-)
Fully recommend, our only regret was to leave before the Loi Kratong celebrations which were being set up, I bet it was beautiful.

Room Tip: We were in a suite which was on the first floor and very private, though the design of the hotel mea...

Its almost annoying when you can't find anything to criticise in a review as it adds nothing to the other 5 star reviews but this place is absolutely deserving of all its praise. My husband and I stayed here at the tail end of our honeymoon for 7 days and found it incredibly difficult to leave. From the moment we were picked up at the hotel and greeted with a cold towel and drink and an ipad to listen to our choice of music I knew this was going to be a great hotel. The hotel is perfect for couples wanting a relaxed break, It literally feels like your one of a handful of guests, it is always perfectly serene even though we were there whilst the hotel was at max capacity, there were always sun loungers available by the pool and we were always able to get a seat at the restaurants without prior booking. We were upgraded prior to our arrival to a suite which is absolutely huge for 2 people. We loved the double showers and the balcony. The food was very good in both The Ficus and The edge restaurants, it was incredibly pricey however so we opted to eat out 2 of the 6 nights we were there, the breakfast at anytime option is just pure genius and the selection very wide. We borrowed bikes and rode to the nearby waterfall one day and also went on the snorkelling trip with the hotel to the Similan islands neither of us had snorkelled before whilst others had in our group but the guides were very professional and very patient and the pace was perfect, the lunch provided on the trip was excellent and we felt it was definitely worth the money. The hotel has a very beautiful beach but unfortunately whilst we were there they were no activites going on. What sets the hotel apart for me is the service, everyone from the waiters to the receptionists to the gardeners/maintenance people greet you with a sawadeekaa as you pass, and everyone seems genuinely eager to serve. We had a gecko in our room one night and called the front desk which sent someone immediately. After a few days the staff at the restaurants knew our room number, names and drinks which always does well to make a guest feel special. We went to 2 of the special themed dining nights the loi krathong night and the Asian night at the hotel which were both absolutely fabulous, there was an incredible variety of food and the entertainment was very enjoyable also.

To criticise is simply to nitpick but if I had to criticise something it would be the region restriction on the dvd player, it definitely sucks to get a dvd player in your room which only plays thai dvd's. We stayed at 3 other hotels across Thailand and this is the only hotel we encountered this (we were honeymoon so spent a lot of time in the room and I know this would have made it for my husband).

Room Tip: Go for the suite its absolutely worth it!
