We have just returned to the UK after spending 10 wonderful days at the Sarojin (and 3 at the Peninsula in Bangkok)

We stayed in a Pool villa which was quite beautiful .It was also fortunate because we experienced horrible weather most of the time we were there (approximately 10 hours of sunbathing the whole time) but we were still able to get lots of swimming in without having to go more than 10 feet from our door.

The whole hotel is fantastically well set out and has the most charming staff , headed by the General Manager Leisa.

We agree with a lot of other reviewers about the slightly hapazard service in the restaurants but it is all done with amazing grace (like most of Thailand). We did not find the restaurants at the hotel excessively expensive. They were not as cheap as restaurants outside the hotel but were not as expensive as the average Chez Gerrard here in the UK (and the quality was far , far better)

Certainly we did have a few minor problems in the 10 days but the manner and speed in which Leisa and her team handled these problems left NO room for complaint.

We wish to thank them all for their kindness and attentiveness during our stay.

“Honeymoon Bliss”

Me and my partner recently spent 7 nights at the Sarojin for our honeymoon after 3 nights in Bangkok at the Peninsula.

Im going to quickly mention a small downside experienced at the Ficus restaurant where i asked 3 times for a Garlic bread and it still didnt arrive, but that is a tiny blodge on a brilliant stay.

The hotel is beautiful and very secluded away from the more commercialised hotels which are all tightly packed together. The pool and rooms are amazing and the service was brilliant. Although i would say the service at the peninsula was slightly better...

Im sure the Sarojin trips are great but we went to the similian Islands, Elephant trekking, bamboo rafting and on the phang na bay trip which cost a third of the price with a company called 'The green biking club'. Most of the people staying at the Sarojin im sure can afford to go on their trips but for those young couples like us who can't, i would suggest looking outside the hotel for trips which i got the impression many of the residents dont risk doing...

We also had the bottle of wine, free massage and floral displays on our bed which were amazing and show the true 5* quality of the Sarojin.

Anyway i'll say no more, im sure your quite bored of my ramblings. Quite simply a lovely place well worth visiting, you'll have a great time!

P.S there are three beach front restaurants to the right. The second one is great and cheap!

i will add photos shortly!

We booked The Sarojin for our honeymoon after reading the glowing reviews on TripAdvisor and I must say they couldn’t be more correct! If you can afford to stay here even for a few days as we did, it is well worth it. There’s nothing more to say, because I won’t do it justice.

The Sarojin

We spent the first 3 nights of our 21 day honeymoon at The Sarojin.

The luxury started when we were greeted at Phuket airport by a smartly dressed member of the excellent team from the Sarojin.

We were whisked away in a cool air conditioned 4x4 whilst all the other tourists were scrambling for taxis and minibuses.

5 minutes down the road we stopped and given ice cold coke, beer and face towels which were very welcome.

The journey was a pleasant 60mins and from the moment the security guard on the gate greeted us by saluting we knew this place was special.

A small gaggle of staff were waiting at reception and my wife was presented with a rose bouquet.

Check in was seamless and we were amazed at the stunning view of the lily pond and resort grounds. It was all very efficient and it seemed that the staff were totally focused on verbally pampering us.

As it was our honeymoon the hotel kindly upgraded our room to the pool residency which was superb. The rooms are tastefully decorated and furnished with a great rain shower, bath and traditional shower. The hotel had also made extra effort with a lovely honeymoon design in rose petals on our bed and also a complimentary bottle of bubbly!

The pool in our room was lovely and whilst not totally private offered us some quality holiday time together.

2 main options for dining exist either at the edge which in within the grounds, or the beach restaurant which offers more traditional Thai and a la carte dining.

We ate in both places and the food was of very good quality and was served by enthusiastic and very friendly and professional staff.

Breakfast at the edge is well worth trying and the choice and quality of the food is well worth the money.

A complimentary 30 minute massage voucher was in our room and we used this on our last morning. The Sarojin spa is set near the beach and is lovely. The staff are very professional and we had a massage private together which was very special despite my wifes painful sunburn.

In summary a fantastic place which is made only better by the attitude of the staff. Full credit must go to the training in place by the management because on our whole honeymoon where we visited a number of quality hotels the Sarojin won every time for staff / customer relations they really do give you 100% attention.

If we were asked about anything we didn’t like about the Sarojin it would have to be the beach bbq and theme evening. At a cost of over 30 ukp a head the flyer promised Thai band, dancing and food etc. Whilst the food choice was very good the whole evening lacked atmosphere with no band, no music just tables of the beach and chitter chatter from the staff. We did question the lack of music and were told the pa system was broken and the band had cancelled because of the rain. The bill was still full price and no real explanation.

Top tips for your stay......

1...try dining or lunching outside the resort....(dry feet option) turn left on the road outside reception follow the sign for sandy beach and you will come to the small row of beach bars all serving great food or....(wet feet option) walk to the beach turn right and cross the stream to the same row of bars

2....try the spa

3....have breakfast or meal in the edge ...a great place ....ask.. To show you her napkin folding skills

4....chat with the staff they are so nice

“Perfect But...”

The Sarojin

If you have already booked to go to the Sarojin then please stop reading all the reviews.

Its like hearing only good reviews about a film before you go to see it, you will inevitably start looking for flaws and it will be very hard for the film / hotel to live up to your inflated expectations.

If you are undecided then I could not recommend the Sarojin more highly. Yes its expensive but everything about the place oozes class. The service is amazing, truly exceptional, the food never disappointed and we had the most relaxing 10 days ever.

So stop reading all the reviews and book now!

Photos coming...
