“Entry level beach resort”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2014

Good-sized room with beautiful ocean view, but the facility and decoration looks old even for deluxe room. However, this is probably the cheapest beach hotel in this area, so we can't really ask for much. The seafood restaurant was not too bad. The beach was a bit dirty compared to other resorts. The pool was way too small and there was no shade on the beach. Also a bit far away from the town center (about 2 to 3 km from the road and 1 km from the beach).

The hotel has good location for relaxation.
Located in the southern part. Him almost immediately begin a national park, so right on the border of the hotel is wooded slope. But this location has a negative side that is far from the Khao Lak center.
Very good service. We stayed at Grand Deluxe Room. The rooms are large and recently renovated.
It has good restaurant.
The hotel has only one masseuse so went to a nearby hotel spa.

Position of resort is at least 20 min walk or a 100 baht taxi ride to the main town where all the restaurants and bars are. This resort on the beach. The size of the rooms are reasonably large with a big comfortable bed. We stayed in Room 1010.There is a big problem with the extractor fan in the bathroom vent in smell of sewer instead of extracting out. If the fan is off, the smell disappeared. Although the resort rates themselves as 3-4 star with WiFI in the lounge but it is not free...which is a real shame as everybody else offer free use of WIFI for their guest.
The whole place is a bit dated, it is in need of facelift. The internet price with breakfast is fair but not its publish price.

Room Tip: Get a room that does not smell!

This hotel is ok value for money - $60 - $80 AUD per night..The rooms (deluxe) are standard size, overlooking a lovely view of the beach. The hotel has the potential to be really lovely, but the garden and upkeep of the place has been neglected. The rooms are set high and the restaurant is down at a lower level on the beach. They served a pretty good standard breakfast at the restaurant on the beach. The pool is clean, decent size and is quite nice. The negatives are: beds very hard - but we changed hotels and the beds were still hard at the next hotel and there was no hot water in the shower in the morning - not a huge problem in the Thai climate. Staff were friendly. The hotel is located about 20 - 30 min walk into the town or there are tuk tuks available to take you into town any time of the day or night for 100Baht ($3AUD) per tuk tuk. Would recommend this hotel if you are happy with a three star experience in a nice location. The hotel is not dirty - just neglected with gardens and upkeep.

Room Tip: Three star in a 4 star location - nice but a little run down. Some rooms have huge balcony but you d...

This hotel is about the location. It's at the top end of the beach and is nice and peaceful. Rooms are clean and adequate. Staff are helpful. Breakfast was good but evening meals were poor but there are so many places to eat in the locality that this doesn't make a difference.

The hotel is a bit tired but it is clean and good value for money. I miss having breakfast while looking out to sea :-)

Room Tip: Try and avoid room 1008 as it seemed to have a drainage problem!

We were a little worried due to some reviews but really happy with this resort. We paid £400 direct with the hotel for arrival and departure transfer, 2 evening meals, superior room with beautiful sea views, breakfast daily (6 nights), arrival drink and fruit basket and Thai massage each on the beach. We were MORE than pleased. The location is secluded, the last resort on the beach so lovely and peaceful. Town is only 20mins along the beach or the top road- either way a pleasant walk. Otherwise, taxis are only £2 for 2. The food in the restaurant was pretty good (and all good value)- the only slight criticism would be the cost of cocktails (but then we had the pleasure of sitting at the lovely bar actually ON the beach.
Quite sad as all of Khao Lak seemed quiet even though we visited in peak season. Even this hotel- there were at most 20 other tables full at breakfast/dinner. Though this had the advantage we always got a table for meals, always got a sunbed at the pool or on the front line of the beach.
Final downside- I think we were the only English guests there- everyone else was German or northern European. This wasn't the END of the world for us as we were looking for some quiet time and space but always nice to meet new people...

Room Tip: We were in 5002. The block provides lovely big rooms but does mean a big walk up/down a steep hill t...
