“Eco friendly , beautiful grounds and sensational staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

We have just spent 12 nights at the Leaf for a family holiday which included 7 adults and a 6 month old baby.
We could not have chosen a better place to spend our holiday together.
This property is ideally situated a few minutes walk to many restaurants, supermarkets/ 7/11 stores, massage places, laundry facilities, transport and about a 5-7 minute walk to the beach through a private path beside its sister resort, the Sands.
We booked 3 villa units which were situated near the main pool and provided us with a relaxed area to sleep and also to gather for evening drinks on the deck outside the room.
The villas are basic but include a huge king bed, bar fridge, good size bathroom and adequate space for clothes.we did not use the TV but reception didn't look great
Amenities provided in the room are also basic but adequate and 2 bottles of water are included daily. Some tea and coffee and milk would be great in the rooms but easy enough to fix at the supermarkets nearby.
Air conditioners work very well but are really noisy. Free wifi works well in the rooms .
The cleaning staff do a fantastic job each day and also spent plenty of time with baby Ollie.
Guests tend to mix well around the pool and pool bar.
The staff however are the draw card.
In particular, the staff in the restaurant area every morning at breakfast were brilliant and their service went over and above what you would expect.
Every morning out table for 7 including a baby seat were ready for us on arrival
Our baby Ollie was whisked away and shared by the wonderful staff Til (Kanjana) and Pakamas ,
Sririporn, Chusri and Preecha as we enjoyed our breakfast .
These guys were amazing and we left them feeling like we were leaving family behind.
The Leaf is amazing value for money and compared to its much larger sister property, the Sands, ticked all the boxes for us.
We all enjoyed the spa facilities at the resort and agreed it was money well spent.
We probably wouldn't come back here in the low season again as we didn't see a lot of sun but all agree that a return visit in peak season would be a goal. The beach was pretty well unusable at this time which was unfortunate
If you are looking for a friendly, relaxed, easy to pass the day away resort with exceptional staff, check out the Leaf by Kathani in khao lak
Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable
And if you are looking for great nearby restaurants, try Smile and Petes bar along the beach to the right as you enter the beach

Room Tip: The villas were great

We stayed here as we were going to a wedding at the 'sands hotel' so this was more than handy. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were nice and all with a balcony. The pool is just fantastic and you can relax with a drink in there. The grounds are peaceful and tropical giving that chilled factor! We love the value for money here and would easily stay again!

The beach is minutes away down a lane way but if you do go down to the beach make sure you find Peter Bar......there you will get a real relaxed chilled out bar with staff too match and great food!

Room Tip: My daughter went back to stay at the leaf and got a ground villa which she said was new and really n...

we stayed in June 2014 for 10 days in one of the villas which are quite spacious, nice quiet relaxing resort. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Ideal resort if you are wanting to just relax, just 2 mins from the main road and about 5mins to the beach. Highly recommend.

We stayed here in May 2014 for 3 nights. Lovely room, comfortable bed, quality bathroom towels. Good breakfast served with lovely Thai food, but Western food choice available. Friendly staff. Enjoyed the pool and just lounging under umbrellas. Comfortable walk to the beach. Not too far. Only problem experienced were ample mosquitoes. Please take precaution! Gardens are beautiful and well kept. Did not make use of Spa, but loved the calming music when we passing by. Will certainly return to this hotel and recommend it to all friends and family back home.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

Stayed here in May 2014.
This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel this year.
It is reasonably small but with two pools and nice clean spacious rooms. There is an onsite restaurant which also serves breakfast The restaurant is good. The breakfast is basic but generally adequate. The hotel is a short walk of a couple of minutes from Khao Lak centre where there are many restaurants/shops.
To get to the beach you have to use a long (c. 300m) hot concrete path besides the sister “Sands” hotel.
The beach is good and there are beach restaurants/bars open (although not so many as in the high season).

Pros –
Nice hotel with generally friendly staff.
Gardens.
Close to Khao Lak centre.
2 pools – never seem crowded.
Free internet terminals in reception – with printer.
Free WiFi

Cons –
Not on beach, long walk to beach.
