“Pleasant stay and value for money, excellent with kids”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2014

We had a nice and relaxing holiday at this resort, stayed there for 2 weeks. Excellent breakfast, buffet dinner good and the a la carte restaurant right at the beach was absolutely lovely - special thanks for the performing duo from the Philippines. Lots of activities for the kids during the day. In the evenings the place was nice and peaceful. Just outside the hotel there are local restaurants, shops etc. Tip: book you day trips from the local agencies, much cheaper than booked from your travel agency. There is a waterfall worth to see just within a walking distance from the hotel (ask the reception). By the beach you can find interesting local food and try also the massage!

The hotel room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the room location just next to the restaurant.

The pool area and beach combination works very well for families with kids. There is also an air conditioned play room for kids if it gets too hot outside.

Tuk tuk service is cheap and easy (for example to Khao Lak 15 min).

Returning to this hotel was a Big mistanke... Last year we found rats in the villa - but the manager promised that everything was taken Care of, and we gave it another try, because of the Beach and surrondings. The rats droppings on the bed after checkin showed us that the standard was even Worse this year... The First morning breakfast was absolutely NOT worth eating.... Ended up packing everything after one Day in the hotel and moved to another hotel in khaolak. We Will never return and hope that all future guest Think twice before booking this hotel.

We booked this as a last minute for New Year from Singapore. Managing expectations this is a 3/4 star hotel ie: it ticks all the boxes. It's very clean, the staff work hard although there is a lack of English understanding so you need patience away from reception.

The beach is excellent as are the pools. Do not come here for the gym, it's awful: Dark, damp, rusty equipment.

Food is average for the price, Thai food is pretty good but expensive. Breakfast can be a bit chaotic but that may be because it is peak season.

Area is very quiet, we would come back for a few days but two weeks would be pushing it!!

This is a family orientated resort, however we are a British family with a 7yr old and apart from one other child it appeared that everyone else was Scandinavian - even the kids club teacher so this limited kiddie interaction.

Having paid thb 2200, I thought, my night will be restful. There was no wifi.I was awoken in the middle of the night with nightmares. The bed was great however.I had to climb flights of stairs to reach my ocean view room, which were slightly covered by hugh trees.
The breakfast was minimal, mostly continental.
I left the resort around 9.30 am.Little did I know that Khao Lak was hit by 2004 tsunami before. If you are not a sensitive person, the resort is brilliant, but for me, I will never return again.

We stayed in Emerald Beach Resort for 7 nights. Resort itself was pretty average, but clean, nice and efficient. Kids loved the pool and the waterslides.

But the food... For some odd reason, we had booked half-board. That´s not something you should do in Thailand. Half-board includes breakfast and the dinner from buffet. We had the dinner only on the first night. Food was way below average. Food was pretty boring and for some reason had a chinese twist in it. Only papaya-salad had some flavors from Thailand. On the top of the food, the drinks are really expensive on the restaurant.

We tested the restaurant on the beach as well in one night, but that was not mind blowing experience either. Nice location and premises, but...

The beach is nice, but might receive some garbage on the high tide. There were some jelly-fishes as well. One girl got stunged just few meters from us.

Anyway, hotel is good choice when travelling with kids. But take a cab to the "center" for dinners. There are few nice restaurants just outside of the hotel as well.

Located in a peaceful bay without too many other resorts and tourists, great beach just outside the resort as well as two nice pool areas and plenty of sunbeds. Great advantage, family rooms can accommodate up to five people which is hard to find other places. Only thing to mention is the rather hectic breakfast buffet, however good selection of food.

First impression of the hotel was a bit disappointed.. It was a bit dark and not as classy as I had imagined. But that changed fast.
The kids loved the pool. It was big and the area around it was open and spacious.
It was really relaxing and very friendly staff.
In the restrooms they had beautiful flowers floating in a bowl and it was clean and neat everywhere.
The hotel is close to the sea and it is close to the center.
The beach here is beautiful. Long and wide and you can walk forever. It is really a relaxing and quiet area.
And we discovered that everything is much cheaper here than in Krabi Ao Nang...

Room Tip: We had deluxe and was happy with that, top floor was great.
