We stayed at La Flora in the rainy season when the hotel was very quiet, and loved it.
As others have said, the pool access rooms are excellent - comfortable, well equipped and with a few steps down to pool.
We found the service in the hotel to be generally very good, though some of the reception staff weren't quite as warm and friendly as other staff (possibly because the hotel was quiet and there isn't a lot for them to do). On the other hand, the bar and restaurant staff were absolutely brilliant. They made the holiday the great one that it was, without question. I would like to single out Paew, Sob and Tudtu, who made us so welcome.
We ate in the hotel a few times. Food and service were excellent and the prices not far off local prices.
The area around the hotel was quiet, not surprisingly given the time of year, but we really enjoyed Khao Niao which is near the market. Great food and great service.
I would highly recommend La Flora, and my only suggestion - made by another reviewer - is that hotel makes the bar a more attractive place to be off season. I'm sure it's fine when the weather is good, but it could be better when the weather is poor. The staff made it worth going, all the same, but this does feel like a missed opportunity for the hotel.
All in all, we had two great weeks in La Flora, thanks in large part to the warmth, friendliness and efficiency of many of its staff.
