“Amazing! Brand new! Modern! Relaxing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2013

Amazing! This is the first word I want to start with. We arrived to the hotel by taxi from Phuket sea port. I thought that the hotel is located in Khao Lak area but it's located in about 10-minute drive distance from Khao Lak city. Well...
as usually, we were met by hotel staff they picked up our luggage and invited us to sit down in the hotel lobby. The lobby is spacious and very well designed. We examined it a bi while managers copying our documents, and so on... After checking-in we use electric golf-car in order to reach our room. While transferring to our room we imagined how big is the territory of the hotel. It's really big, and very well designed. The water is everywhere, small waterfalls, etc. It's pleasure just to walking by the territory of the hotel during some time.

There are several buildings (about 10) of 4 floors each. The buildings are located on left and right sides of the hotel, so the rooms are located in such way that every room has a view to the territory of the hotel. So, there are no rooms with no view. The rooms on the ground floor have direct access to the pool.

Also, there are a lot of 2-floors bungalows in the hotel that look nice from outside also.

As to the room, it's very good furnished and have modern design. Very big room, very big bed, flat TV, kettle, deposit safe, umbrellas, iron, everything you need... There is great bathroom. I really like shower, and there is a "rain" option. So, as for me, the room is perfect!

Breakfast. Very good choice of dishes. The only thing I could recommend to add is fresh juices.
You can have a breakfast inside of restaurant or outside (outside location is much more private, so we preferred to have a breakfast outside).

Restaurant. There are 3 restaurants in the hotel. The first one - is the one where you have a breakfast. The second - Thai cuisine restaurant (we didn't visit it). The another one is Italian restaurant! I would like to recommend this restaurant!

Beach. The hotel has wide sandy beach. There are a lot of sunbeds and umbrellas. Also there are several big trees on the beach and you can place your sunbed under the tree. In such case you will be on the first line and no other sunbeds will be located in front of you.
You can get beach towels right on the beach. There are several kayaks and other things you can hire on the beach.
As to the sea, you will not see corals or colorful fishes there. But it's nice to see, especially when waves are there.
What is important it's that even when the tide is low, it's no problem to swim.
We find a lot of nice shells we never sen before. But please leave the shells where you found it.

SPA. The hotel offers SPA but as for me the price is not reasonable. If you wish to have a massage, you can have it on the beach (10 meters on right from the hotel). The price is much more attractive. And the quality is good also. If you want to relax even more just ask to make the massage very gentle.

Sport. There is sport club in the hotel. It's free of charge: gym, table tennis. There are tennis courts - you need to pay for racket and new balls only. But in case if you have your own inventory, it's free for you. There is bike rental also.
Good bowling - 100 THB per game per person. Karaoke.
Everything is new and very good quality.

Baby club. If you travel with child there is special building where your child can play. If you baby is 4 years or more, you can leave child there unattended.

Also I want to add some warm words about the staff. Everyone smiles to you. They will help you, just ask.
On our check-out date we asked staff about doctor for our kid. There is no doctor in the hotel but they arranged minivan for us and transferred us to clinic in nearby city. One of managers accompanied us in order to help us to communicate with doctor. I want to thank you all of them very much once again.
And what is important, the hotel didn't charge us for that.

As I told before, the hotel location is a bit isolated. So, if you wish to visit city you need to get taxi or use free shuttle service from the hotel. But time of free shuttle is not so convenient.

The last thing: exchange rate was very good in the hotel.

Room Tip: There are no bad rooms since every room has good view Ground floor has access to the pool

We stayed here for 8 nights during Christmas 2013. Rooms are nice, modern and clean. Beach is very nice but isolated unless you have your own car. The gym and squash court are both great. The main problem with this resort is that it has been taken over by hundreds of French charter toursists coming on an all-inclusive package. This was a fact we only discovered after arriving. Loud tecno music is being played on the beach and vollyball games and other activities for the French charter toutsists hijack the resort, beach and restaurants.

New resort, opened in october. Has potential to be great, and "nobody" has discovered the Sentido Graceland yet - it was only booked to 10-15 % of the resorts' full capacity when I was there 7 - 14 december. Very quiet, almost spooky. Some things they need to improve, but when they do, this place could be a paradise.

-- Transfer from airport --
Five days prior to my arrival I contacted the resort to make a reservation for a transfer from the Phuket Airport. "I'm sorry, you must make that kind of reservation at least seven days before your arrival", was the reply. Bad start, Sentido Graceland -3 points.
Well, it turned out to be very easy to catch a limousine at the Airport "on the fly", so no problem.
Note that Sentido Graceland is located at the very north part of Khao Lak beach so the drive from Phuket Airport is 1 h 30 min.

-- Check-in --
Very smooth check-in. They drive you to your room on a golf cart, and on the way they take you for a short sightseeing trip around the facilities. Smart.
Enormous lobby, very impressive, almost like a dome.

-- Room --
I stayed in a "Pool View Premium" which was on the second floor. Very nice room. Perfect bed (some might find it a bit hard?), beautiful bath room with a glass wall, very nice balcony, spacious. At the nightstand there is a functional Master Control for all the lights, TV, AC, "Clean room/don't disturb"-sign and so on. The AC is efficient.
At night you can slightly hear the soft sound of the ocean wawes (I stayed in building 16). Nice.

-- Garden and pools --
There is a huge pool all around the hotel area. Every room on the first floor seems to have pool access directly from your room. Cool. The garden is very nice. Lots of trees, plants, flowers and bushes even though the resort is only a few months old. I don't know how they did that. Installed readymade plants?

-- Beach --
Beautiful beach just two steps from the hotel. It's a quiet part of the famous Khao Lak beach and the Sentido Graceland is a bit isolated from other resorts. Nice sand, but there are some parts on the beach where there is coral. Nothing to worry about, you can easily walk along the beach barefoot and they seem to have cleaned the beach just outside the resort. Only smooth sand on the bottom where you go to swim. Nice.

It seems to be rather big waves rolling in from the Andaman Sea at this part of the beach. Nothing to worry about for an adult, but a child might need parental guidance.

Nice loungers on the beach. Easy to pick your favourite spot, even if you arrive late. That might of course change when this place is fully booked next year...
But why so few sunshades! You can't have three or four loungers sharing one sunshade!

A few stray dogs (friendly) and no vendors on the beach.

-- Wi-Fi --
Free and of descent speed. Perfect coverage - even down at the beach! Big plus!

-- Cleaning --
The resort is brand new and very clean. Perfect cleaning of the rooms.

-- Restaurants --
Very few guests, I was almost alone every night. I guess some people tried out the local restaurants along the beach but I even saw very few who tried that. Strange, I guess everybody else had room service dinners...

Three restaurants at the resort. Oceano at the beach front. Nice variety of the Italian comfort food, made very well.
Pla 2 is a Thai restaurant of high quality. Nice spicy Thai dishes gourmet style.
And the common restaurant (I don't remember the name, but it's where you have breakfast) with simpler food buffe style.

The thing with all three restaurants - the service is not yet up to standards. Shy, young waiters who barely speek English and seem to have no idea what to do. They are all very nice, they smile and are courteous - but have apparently no experience of the restaurant business. This will of course change over time, but for now - not good enough!

-- Breakfast --
Huge breakfast buffet with good variety and quality. Five stars.

-- Bars --
A couple of bars. One at the lobby area, one in the garden. Absolutely no customers yet, which takes away most of the fun of having a drink in a bar...

-- Conclusion --
Try Sentido Graceland - in a year or so it will be perfect. But also crowded, so try it this season if you can get a good deal.

Hi guys, I would like to share my pleasant experience staying at the Sentido Graceland Resort. First of all it is managed by a very intelligent, humble, polite and caring General Manager Mr. Somchai Maneetawat. I am very grateful to him for making my stay unforgettable. The Sentido Graceland property is gorgeous it has a fabulous Thai modern design, infinity pool, luxurious tropical plants and absolutely relaxing beach. The property located in the beautiful tropical jungle, you will wake up by the singing birds at your patio and fall asleep with the sound of the ocean. The hotel has two amazing restaurants (Thai and Italian cuisines) very delicious. It is probably the best Thai food I have ever tried. The breakfast, it is not your typical breakfast; I would call it a brunch has variety of assorted hot and cold dishes including: meat, seafood, soups, salads desserts, coffee, tea, smoothies, fruits and whatever your heart desires. What I truly enjoyed is the recreational activities such as: complimentary kayak boating, yoga, stretch on the beach, aqua fitness, tennis mixer, biking during sunset, Thai dance and brand new gym. There are few local restaurants around the corner and massage places on the beach. Another perk of the hotel is complimentary shuttle bus to the village for those who want to do some shopping and sightseeing. Some of their suites have bath tub on the patio which is pretty unique and relaxing. If you are either planning to escape the stressful reality, having a family vacation or honeymoon Sentido will help you to have an unforgettable experience. Enjoy!

Room Tip: I prefer their suite

We stayed here for 2 nights, when visited Similan islands for 1night/2days and when back to Sentido for 2 additional nights. .
This hotel is new - and it's a big plus.
We had a standart room, and it was great. Huge bed, very comfy.
And a cute bathroom with those glass wall was amazing.
When we stayed here, there were no more than 20 tourists, so we thought we were the only one guests here. It was just perfect.
The beach is very wide, clean and beautiful. And the very good thing is, that Sentido is the only one hotel in that part of Khao Lak.
Good breakfasts with a lot of fruits, eggs, soups, sweets and so on.
We also enjoied the Fitness Center with bowling and table tennis.

Usually, we went for dinners to their Italian restaurant. And I can recommend it all. The only thing is It's a little bit expensive, as for me.
Don't eat in the restaurant on the left of the hotel. It's cheap, but the food was euuhhhhhhh.

What I want to say in additional to this, that the stuff was very very kind and helpful.
We traveled with our little 2y.o. son, and he found an infection on Krabi, but we understood only when we were on Khao Lak.
Kathiline (girl from the reception) helped us to find the doctor, and escorted us when we visited him, helped to talk with him.
So many many thanks to her!!!!
Oh, one more thing, there are a great kids room in the hotel. Our son was in love with it.

Finally, I can say that I am really recommended it all!!!

Stay here on September'13. Checked in was smooth and fast. The reception staff were very helpful. After checked in we delivered by golf car to the room.
We booked 2 rooms for 5 persons. One room have a one big king size bed and another room with queen bed and single bed. All the room facing to the beautiful garden.
Bathroom at standard room only have a shower. The problem in the room was the air con fan was high flow although we already set at the low flow, it's make us inconvenient.
The room was clean and nice decorated.

The facility was superb, there's a fitness center, karaoke, bowling, and many other outdoor activity. The water at main swimming pool was not clear, and many rubbish at the pool.
The beach front was nice but not as beautiful as in JW Marriott Khao Lak. There's no pool service at the pool and at the beach. We must self service to bring the pool towel from room.
Breakfast in the morning with a lot variety, but the food quality also below JW Marriott.

If you stayed here for relax with budget price this place was good. When I booked at Sentido the price almost half price from JW Marriott. If the price almost closed to JW Marriott I will choose JW Marriott with better service, better breakfast, and better swimming pool and beach.

Room Tip: Rooms at the south (from lobby to the left) have a nice swimming pool.

Nice sand beach, fun to play in the waves and relax by the side
Few restaurants along the stretch of the beach on either side of the hotel and all quite good.
Rooms are done very well, comfortable beds
Large breakfast buffet, delicious food - though lacking in cheese variety (only one kind of cheese is not enough for a European!)
Good location to take trips to Khao Sak and Similan islands - these (and taxi services) can be arranged with good discounts in the restaurants by the resort

One complaint: the rooms behind the Thai restaurant get a lot of noise from the kitchen because of the fans and kitchen door being left open (heat?!) - I called the reception about this, nothing was done or changed for 2 days and then they offered to change our room the day before we left. The noise is bearable with the balcony doors closed, but I could not enjoy sitting in the balcony at all.

Room Tip: Ask for your room not to be situate behind the Thai restaurant. The rooms here will have all the noi...
