“Nice hotel, very friendly staff!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2013

The hotel's location is handy; close to the beach. There are also many restaurants on the same road. It's a bit difficult to walk around though, because there is not pavement on either side of the road near the hotel. We had to get a taxi a few times for places that we could walk in 15 minutes. But we didn't want to walk by the side of a busy road. And the taxis are expensive compare to Bangkok. They all charge minimum 100THB -even for a 5 minute drive.

The hotel is gorgeous. The building is very pretty. Rooms are nice. Staff is very helpful. There is only one person at the reception who spoke English. She was in most of the day. I must say she was just brilliant.

When we didn't have time to have breakfast, she gave us fruit to take with us. She waited half an hour at the bus stop with us so that we could get the right bus to Krabi. Surprisingly, not many people spoke English in the region.

The only downside of the hotel was its bathrooms. None of them had a glass frame in their windows. There were open plan, facing the lake and the beautiful trees right behind the hotel. The view, when you take a shower, was amazing but then you could end-up with a spider as big as you hand by the sink -which we did so. At nights, as soon as you turn the bathroom light on, the mosquitoes rush to the light and ate us alive, and each time we used the toilet we got hit by the heat after the getting used to the cool air in our air-conditioned room.

Still, I would definitely recommend this hotel. It was clean, spacious, well looked-after, well managed.

Staff was very friendly, generous and helpful.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012 via mobile

We spent a night at GBH with our friends. The owner and his wife was so lovely and very friendly. He collected us from the pier (coming from Similan Islands) and the following day hired a taxi to take us to another pier (to get to Koh Samui). The rooms are 5 star quality and so clean. The owner and his wife were very attentive and helpful and it was such a good price. I am sure it was a mistake but we kept it quite (1300bht per night).I think the location is a bit out of the town centre but taxis are very cheap. In the night we went to a restaurant called "Blue Mist", located just behind the Marriot hotel (350 Bht by taxi). We had the best meal at this restaurant during our three weeks. It was by the sea and food and service was perfect!! Hope you Enjoy your stay as much as we did !

This boutique hotel offers luxury in a smaller, intimate setting.
We arrived late at night (10pm) and they had our reservations out, ready to be processed (along with a delicious glass of freshly squeezed pineapple juice). Our room was clean and nicely stocked with what you'd expect from a good hotel (i.e. tea kettle with tea and coffee, complimentary bottles of water, etc.). It was a good night's sleep.
Perhaps the highlight for us was the luxury washroom. The shower head is fixed over a deep bathtub. It is open concept - there are two wide windows that face a watery area and a jungle. You feel like you are showering outside. The water was wonderfully hot. It is, by far, the best washroom (specifically shower) that we've had in our many travels.
The included breakfast was also wonderfully filling. The service was great.
Overall, it's a really nice hotel run by really nice people.
