We had very high expectations of the resort as we had read so many excellent reviews on TripAdvisor and all the pictures looked amazing! I am glad to say that casa de la flora lived up to the high expectations that it had set for itself.
Check-in was smooth, we each had a coconut drink and a cold towel to refresh ourselves from the drive from Phuket airport and the heat. We booked the studio pool villa which was the smallest of all. Although it didn't have a direct view of the sea, you can see that once you step out. We were also very impressed with the room. Electronic controls for everything in the room was a nice touch, very open concept toilet so you have to be VERY comfortable with whoever you're sharing the room with and also being in the open. Pool also came with a jacuzzi which was a nice touch, which we spent one afternoon doing aqua yoga (free activity - thanks Kai!) in. Bedding and pillows are very comfy, expensive and nice toiletries, soft towels, TV with cable channels and a complimentary mini bar which was replenished on a daily basis! There is also a turn down service where the staff delivers the newspaper and some snacks.
Main swimming pool was a little small but i guess every villa already has their own pool. Breakfast was great they allowed us to order additional servings. There's also sparkling wine at breakfast - for those who like to start early. Spa experience was wonderful, clean and relaxing although you can get a massage along the streets for more than half the price. One evening we also got to enjoy Casa happy hour with free cocktails and canapes.
It's not that near Khao Lak city center but its like a 200thb (4 of us) taxi ride which took maximum 10 minutes. There are restaurants and massage parlors just down the street so no short of other activities.
The staff are always obliging and will always greet you with a smile on their faces. I would definitely recommend casa. I would also love to return again! Maybe this time get to see some whale sharks and manta rays while diving
