“High quality hotel !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2014

Nice hotel with high quality. Stayed here for five nights and was upgraded to a room with access to the swimming pool directly from my room, which was really nice. I tend to not spend so much time *in* the actual hotel (basically just sleep there, probably only spend one day in the pool), but the staff was nice, room was clean and breakfast was good - that's all I need.

I stayed here in February for a week on arrival there was a mixup with our room after a lengthy time it was sorted not what you need after travelling. The girl on reception seemed to young to handle this eventually a senior girl came and sorted it out. The breakfast swings between very good one day mediocre the next the rooms got cleaned at around 5 every day.ay I suggest to the management that the staff are trained they are not at fault as there didn't seem to be enought staff for the size of the resort. I have been in the hospitality industries for 40 years and would like to say to the management you are in danger of sliding in obscurity if you don't get things sorted. Shame such potential is going to waste due to poor leadership

After a tiring journey we arrived to be told that there were no rooms available for three days. Good start. I notice from trip advisor that this is not an uncommon occurrence. A young member of staff was dealing with the complaint badly and in a disinterested manner when a more senior lady stepped in. She promised a deluxe room by the pool on our return and to compensate for the trouble would book us into the Briza for three days. Absolute luxury. On our return we had to deal with the same young lady and after viewing three rooms eventually got the promised room. The hotel is very tired as are the poor staff who are few in number and overworked. They rarely smile. I feel that management needs to improve staff training. The young girl in reception was never going to win us back after her initial brusque and subsequent recalcitrant attitude. Breakfast is adequate but only just and wifi poor. Could be better but needs management that cares about clients and their needs

My wife booked this resort for our third night stay in Khao Lak. (the first 2 nights at The Briza which is located next door, were wonderful) We even stopped by to confirm things the day before however when we arrived for check-in, we were told that they had no room available for us and instead they transferred us next door to another accomodation, The Emerald Resort. Very, very poor experience overall and The Emerald Resort is also very dilapidated and in need of repairs. I recommend you stay at The Briza instead (all 3 resorts are side by side).

Having booked a 'deluxe family room' through booking.com, we were disappointed to be told on arrival that we needed to pay an extra 1000 baht per night for our children to sleep on the sofa bed which was already in the room??! We expressed our confusion with the reception staff and can only describe one member of staff's reaction as aggressive and threatening. He basically told us we had no choice as we had made our booking through booking.com. Very upsetting. We were forced to accept this room but my husband then met with the manager of the hotel and had a very productive discussion where he explained how we had been treated by the reception staff. She apologised and said we didn't need to pay the extra charge because of our negative welcome to the hotel. However she didn't inform her team and we were faced with the same negative response on checking out, with the same angry receptionist desperate to add the extra charge to our bill. Again, very upsetting. I don't know if this was a coincidence but our 'deluxe family room' was right at the back of the resort, overlooking a swimming pool which we weren't allowed to use. It was also next to a room being renovated so we were confronted with constant banging/dust/noise all day long and couldn't sit on the balcony. I would not recommend this hotel at all.

Really nice hotel, staff are very helpful and in particular the reception staff could not do enough to help. There is a really nice beach that is not crowded, but watch out for some big waves! The one issue that occurred with regards to a chainsaw being used to cut up a tree on the beach was reported and dealt with swiftly by the reception team = no more chainsaw noise!

The rooms are quite large with a nice bathroom (with a bath) and balcony. Rooms have all the standard stuff such as A/C and a decent bed. I also requested a DVD player and although this was not included in the room that I had booked this was provided free of charge and without any hassle. Would also recommend the spa, was given a voucher on check in for a complimentary 1hr massage and it was very good! The only very small gripe is that the housekeeping could have been a little better although the room was always clean they did not always change the towels. The breakfast is also very good with a wide selection of food and eggs cooked to order, I have found a new love of guava juice!

Although the hotel is outside of the main resort there are plenty of taxis that will take you in to the main drag, 150 baht for Nang Thong and 250 baht for Bang Niang, where there are loads of restaurants, shops etc. However, there are a numbers of shops and restaurants just outside of the hotel so there is no need to get taxis if you don't want to.

Would recommend and stay here again

This is a great resort! Its right at the beach and its a perfect quiet family place to lots of fun!
there are some nice restaurants right outside the hotel, there are a few spas and you can even get laundry at a good price.

We went to the resort right next to ours as well.. they have a fabulous on the beach restaurant and a very nice guitarist but i cant say that hotel looked very warm. This was a good choice.

house keeping is a little problem- you have to call them a few times for house keeping to finally arrive!

Room Tip: Take the ground floor room with pool access- its awesome
