“Beatiful stay aat beach front bungalow”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

We (3 persons) spent the extra money to get a beach front bungalow. It was worth the extra 500 Baht. The room service was good but you should be aware that fornt desk clerks are not very good in English. Trip to Chong Fah waterfall on a moto bike Taxi was perfect. Snorkeling trip was booked worn on a wreck diving trip with no possibilities for snorkeling.

The service for the room was realy freindly and good. And for the money it is probably the best bungalow you can get there. I stayed in Nang Thong Bay I resort before, where the service is more professional - but you have to pay the difference.

Green bay room service - for me - was perfect considering what I had to pay. Reservation mad in August worked perfectly for the holiday season over X-mas.

For the food: the Tom Yang Kung in the Green Beach Restuarant is a bargain and delicious.
In the evening and for the breakfast we preferred the nearby Nang Tong Bay Resort I Restaurant.

Room Tip: Spent the extra money for the beach front bungalow!

Stayed 1 night. Surprised to be charged 50 baht for internet access, as it's been a standard free/included service throughout SE Asia (at places with internet access, at any rate). Even more surprised to find that access only allowed connections about half the time, and when it did connect was so slow as to be borderline unusable. Incredibly frustrating when trying to book or confirm onward travel arrangements.
Rooms were simple but nice, although thin-walled. We were in the bungalow next to the main beach access path, which meant we heard restaurant staff on their way to and fro, with clanking carts of food and other items, as well as snippets of other guests' conversations.
Beach is good enough at high tide but not at low tide. At all times watch for hidden rocks as you walk in to the water. Some garbage in the water and on the beach.
Beachfront restaurant: reasonable food at reasonable prices.
In short, you can do better elsewhere.

We stayed for 4 nights in feb 2013
Yes, it's on the beach, and it's looks like "tree houses" (that children like !!) but
Aircon is noisy and cannot be left at night
No curtains, so at 6 am, you are awake !!!
The walls as so thin that you can ear your neighbours, and all the animals outside so You ca'nt sleep well
The service at the beach restaurant is "average" and for just a few baths more it's much MORE better and the Nang Tong Beach just a few meters beside

My husband and i have done plenty of backpacking, so we are fine with rustic accommodations. but we were horrified by the treatment and accommodations at Green Beach. A number of inconveniences, oversights and unpleasant interactions with the manager, Alapat Nikam, added up to a very stressful stay. This place may be a bargain, but it's not worth it.

Overall, the place had the feeling of something that might once have been rustically charming, but hadn't been maintained in two years. The garden setting was completely overgrown and unkempt. The grounds were dark, plants were untended, and empty flower pots held murky standing water. There were about 20 large open trash bags full of plastic bottled in the garden area between two bungalows on the path to our bungalow - though these weren't visible from our bungalow, they were visible from the porches of the other bungalows along the path.

Inside, sheets were clean, but the bungalows were musty-smelling and cobwebbed, with leaky bathrooms, dusty light fixtures, and moldy walls. The mosquito nets had large holes. The back door to our outside shower didn't lock, leaving our room exposed to anyone who hopped over the wall.

The staff had us switch rooms for our second night (of which they informed us before we'd arrived but well after we'd paid) and when we arrived to our room in the evening the second night, we found the A/C was broken. Until then we had been frustrated but resigned. This was the incident that convinced us to leave. We called the manager, who tried unsuccessfully to have someone fix it. It was swelteringly hot and humid. We asked to be moved to another room, and he told us he had no other rooms, and blamed us for the situation, saying we should have told him earlier. (We had just arrived back to the hotel after being out all day.) He raised his voice at us and several times walked away from us as we pled for him to find another room. Finally, he had one of his workers move us to a bungalow facing the beach. There was mold and dirt running the length of the wall, and pools of water on the bathroom floor from the toilet leaking. We were exhausted by this point, so we slept there and decided to check out in the morning.

In the morning, we asked for a discounted or complimentary night, and Mr. Nikam became angry and threatened to call the police. The man was an absolute nightmare.

Lastly, I wish only to note that the handyman/bag attendant, Chi, was an absolutely lovely man who treated us wonderfully, spent hours trying to fix the A/C and was very sweet and concerned.

We ended up moving to a place that wasn't on the beach, and it was so much nicer, and only a short walk to the beach, and we were so much happier. Find something off the beach or outside Khao Lak if you can't afford a different beachfront resort, but definitely don't choose Green Beach.

Lasr year's 6 weeks visit was my second to this relatively small bungalow hotel, situated right on the beach of the Andaman sea. Living in one of the front bungalows, you are literally almost sitting with your feet in the water. The standard of the bungalow is rather simple, but sufficiient/ And, in relation to the price, the value for money is very good. My wife and I tried different bungalows until we finally ended in the Honemoon Cottage, right at the front. The veranda/terrace is essential for the well'-being. Inside is only for sleeping. Life in Thailand is outside, either on the (green) beach right in front, or on the terrace. Housekeeiping was excellent, and the staff, in general very service-oriented and helpful. Laundry submitted before 5 pm, would be ready by 8 am the next morning. There was also a beach resaurant, serving all the typical Thai dishes. Very good cooking. And, the view to the Andaman sea is spectacular. Many people just come up from the beach to enjoy a sunset drink at Green Beach's beach restaurant. Morover, Green Beach is only 5 minutes walk from the main business/restaurant area, adding to its value as moderatly priced beach hotel, close to shops, restaurants and travel agents. My wife and I enjoyed the place so much during November and December, that we decided to invite our whole family to Green Beach for Christmas. The whole family was enthusiastic about the place, and we are now planning next Christmas at the same place.

Room Tip: Chooaw onw od rhw sea front bungalows. They are a little more expensive, but well worth it.

Very disappointing stay. It is a beautiful location and the price was good. However I didn't bargain for a rude owner. The sink in my room was leaking ( a lot, not a little). A very nice man attempted to fix it but was unable. I asked at the front desk for towels to wipe up the sink and floor. The owner offered me a very small towel. I asked for more. He said he could not "pamper " me with more. Nor could he fix the sink until the next day. He said I should have told him sooner. I wonder why his staff did not notice when they cleaned . It took him until the next afternoon - very late- to fix it, The restaurant on the grounds is only so so. Definately would not stay there again. We checked out and found a new place. Owner did not apologize and was angry we left.

Room Tip: I don't know if there are good rooms here. My limited exposure indicated my room was dingy, dar...

i would not say this place is nice, but for the price in comparison to whats around it i suppose its okay, especially for families as its easy being right on the beach. Don't come here expecting a romantic getaway. cabins are all on top of each other, 2 of them are right on the beach, kind of feels like a tropical caravan park. none of the staff except the man who carries bags was particularly friendly or even smiling. And apart from drinks in the sun chairs i wouldn't bother with their restaurant, but again, with young kids its probably ideal to grab a quick burger and chips? there are better beach bars/ restaurants about 15 mins walk north up the beach & Like most of asia, don't expect nice clear water.
