“Great value for money”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

Lasr year's 6 weeks visit was my second to this relatively small bungalow hotel, situated right on the beach of the Andaman sea. Living in one of the front bungalows, you are literally almost sitting with your feet in the water. The standard of the bungalow is rather simple, but sufficiient/ And, in relation to the price, the value for money is very good. My wife and I tried different bungalows until we finally ended in the Honemoon Cottage, right at the front. The veranda/terrace is essential for the well'-being. Inside is only for sleeping. Life in Thailand is outside, either on the (green) beach right in front, or on the terrace. Housekeeiping was excellent, and the staff, in general very service-oriented and helpful. Laundry submitted before 5 pm, would be ready by 8 am the next morning. There was also a beach resaurant, serving all the typical Thai dishes. Very good cooking. And, the view to the Andaman sea is spectacular. Many people just come up from the beach to enjoy a sunset drink at Green Beach's beach restaurant. Morover, Green Beach is only 5 minutes walk from the main business/restaurant area, adding to its value as moderatly priced beach hotel, close to shops, restaurants and travel agents. My wife and I enjoyed the place so much during November and December, that we decided to invite our whole family to Green Beach for Christmas. The whole family was enthusiastic about the place, and we are now planning next Christmas at the same place.

Room Tip: Chooaw onw od rhw sea front bungalows. They are a little more expensive, but well worth it.

Very disappointing stay. It is a beautiful location and the price was good. However I didn't bargain for a rude owner. The sink in my room was leaking ( a lot, not a little). A very nice man attempted to fix it but was unable. I asked at the front desk for towels to wipe up the sink and floor. The owner offered me a very small towel. I asked for more. He said he could not "pamper " me with more. Nor could he fix the sink until the next day. He said I should have told him sooner. I wonder why his staff did not notice when they cleaned . It took him until the next afternoon - very late- to fix it, The restaurant on the grounds is only so so. Definately would not stay there again. We checked out and found a new place. Owner did not apologize and was angry we left.

Room Tip: I don't know if there are good rooms here. My limited exposure indicated my room was dingy, dar...

i would not say this place is nice, but for the price in comparison to whats around it i suppose its okay, especially for families as its easy being right on the beach. Don't come here expecting a romantic getaway. cabins are all on top of each other, 2 of them are right on the beach, kind of feels like a tropical caravan park. none of the staff except the man who carries bags was particularly friendly or even smiling. And apart from drinks in the sun chairs i wouldn't bother with their restaurant, but again, with young kids its probably ideal to grab a quick burger and chips? there are better beach bars/ restaurants about 15 mins walk north up the beach & Like most of asia, don't expect nice clear water.

Our family of six (kids ages 11, 9, 6, 2) had the time of our life. The resort was exactly what we were looking for. No TV forced us to truly get outside, enjoy the beach, and take in the Thai culture. We were able to space out our adventure days with beautiful views in the beach followed by relaxing massages. The staff was so friendly and inviting that we decided to book our next season. The food was wonderful and we can't describe how enjoyable this trip was.

Hints: bring mosquito repellent if are not accustomed to mosquitos.

Try the Thai spicy soup

Green Beach Resort in Khao Lak is the best value for money you can get while in Khao Lak. The prices are cheap compared to many other hotels in the area. The bungalows are very clean and have beautiful sit out areas overlooking the beach. We stayed at the family cottage and the only thing between us and the sea was the sand :)
The beach is clean, not very rocky and the best part was that there were no crowds, so that was perfect for us. The beach is accessible at night so it was great to sit around, do nothing and star gaze. Although, a mosquito repellent is essential. We did not try the food at the resort as there were many enticing restaurants nearby. The outdoor showers in the bungalows were amazing. They also have indoor ones. Green beach resort is the perfect place to relax and indulge in the beauty of nature. The staff are very friendly and make you feel at home.

Room Tip: Check out their website before booking as they have a floor plan of their bungalows. Choose the ones...

We wanted a place near the beach and for a resonable price and was very satisfied with staying at Green Beach. We stayed for 9 days and enjoyed the nature very much. You can see Hermit Crabs at the beach. We went for long peacefull walks on the beach and yes ; you do need moscito repellent and the moscito net around the bed is a good thing. The room is fine and we liked the outdoor shower very much ( you can shower inside too..).
Staff is helpfull and kind, rooms cleaned everyday , fresh towels and bedshets.
We stayed in July, and as it was low season we got a very good price (-50%), we had ok weather, and it was nice to sit at the veranda and read for an hour or so while it rained.
Most days we could go swimming but due to the monsune we had days with big waves. We wold like to stay at Green Beach another time again.

We planned our similan diving one year ago, and we got budget flight from hongkong to phuket, and we arrived in khao lak in Jan 18, 2012. The first night we stayed in a guesthouse, which is just besides the main road. It is quite noisy at night. So the next day we searched along the beach for a better place. Then we came into this green beach resort. There are several small beautiful wooden chalets there, just along the beautiful beach. And we were lucky to have one chalet still available, generally the green beach resort is fully booked during this period. There are a lot of Germans and Scandinavians, as if we were in Germany. The staff in the resort are all very helpful, and always smile a lot, we can tell it is the true smile from their bottom of heart, not the fake ones we usually met in big western resorts. The old man in the office, I guess he is the owner of the resort, is very helpful and considerate. The last day he took us with a lot of luggages to the mainroad bus station with his own car, and free of charge of it.

The price is quite reasonable in this high season. For chalet along the beach is 1800B, and for chalet several steps away from the beach, the price is 1400. The Ocean Breeze next to green beach resort will charge you for around 6000 to 7000B per night.

Definitely we will come back and stay in green beach resort if we want to dive again in similan islands.

And thanks again to the staff and manager in green beach resort, for your warmly and helpful service, which certainly become an important part of a valueble memory of our holiday trip in Khao Lak.

Room Tip: stay 10 days may get one day off
