We stayed 1 night at this new camp right behind the east entrance gate into the crater. For us it seems this was the best camp of the 3 angata camps we visited during our 10 day safari. This camp has only 8 tents located in dense forest. There is no crater view from this camp, but on our morning game drive we where no. 2 on the way down in the crater because of this perfect location. The tents provided private shower, sink and flushing toilet. Hot water for your evening shower will be brought by the very friendly staff. In the evening wich can be could near the crater rim they put hot water bags in your bed (nice touch). Lights from solar power, no hairdryer using possible, batteries can be charged in the lounge tent. We use the breakfast box and returned for hot lunch to the camp. Lunch and dinner are delicious. Service was exellent and the best of all angata camps we had and could easily mess up with high-class camps we visited in other safari destinations. The costs of drinks in all angata camps are moderate (beer 4 US$, soft drink 3 US$).
Because we were one of the first in the crater we saw lots of animals (lions, elephants, black rhino....) without the crowds, thanks to the good location of the camp.
We definitely would choose this camp again.
Thank you for a wonderful stay, asante sana.
