“Fantastic way to stary our safari”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2011

We booked a 7-day safar with Access2Tanzania and stayed here the first night. Lovely rooms, clean and comfortable with all the basic amenities including nice bathroom and mosquito netting. The pool looked inviting and the proprietress made us feel like family. They had a dining / lounge room and bar adjoining the pool.

Additionally, since I can't find a place to post a review on our safari company in Tanzania, I can't wait to say what a wonderful trip we just had with Access2Tanzania. We returned a week ago from a 7-day safari. Here's one amazing example: We originally planned to spend 1 nights in the Serengeti (mobile camp) and 2 nights in the Western Corridor hoping to hit the tail end of the wildebeest migration. However, due to a recent rain, the migration was still in the Serenget and NO animals were in the Western Corridor to speak of. We didn't know this but Access2Tanzania did and changed our mobile camp sites for the last 2 nights to the Serengeti so we could enjoy the wonderful animals a little longer. The accomodations were wonderful -- all with en suite toilets -- and mobile camp sites in the Serengeti helped us become more a part of Africa -- sitting around the campfire and listening to the lions roar at night. The food was delicious, the service impeccable and our guide, Rogathe, made our visit a "once in a lifetime". He seemed to know where the "unusual" animals were and we experienced animal adventures that were once in a lifetime -- including escorting two lioness and their 5 small kittens to a local watering hole. We could have reached down and petted them. All this at a value price -- I know because I spent one month researching site and contacting safari companies before I decided to go with Access2Tanzania. A brilliant choice ... if I do say!

We found Ahadi Lodge to be far more than we expected. It is very clean and has a ton of charm. It was very quiet and comfortable. The staff was great-personable and attentive. The food was outstanding and very fresh as well. I will definitely stay at the Ahadi Lodge again if I ever travel through Arusha!!

We just spent three nights at the Ahadi Lodge en route to and from our safari. A lovely place. Amazing food, lovely staff, an inviting pool to enjoy post safari and lots of space for our 3 kids to play. Owner Erica was very accommodating with our kids.

We stayed at Ahadi Lodge last year, and it was so lovely that we decided to stay this again this summer while we were in Arusha.

Erika greeted us warmly and escorted us to our room. Even though all of Arusha is having problems with electricity, Erika explained everything to us including giving us a flashlight. A cold glass of freshly squeezed juice awaited us.

We weren't aware of how much we missed walking in grass until we sat next to the pool. The children with us had fun in the pool as well as running around in the grass. Ahadi Lodge is very secure and we felt comfortable letting the children roam.

The food and bar service was wonderful as was the Wifi free internet.

The best part... Erika arranged for a manicure and pedicure specialist to come right to us at the Lodge. A glass of white wine and we were in heaven!!!

We stayed here one night before our safari began. We enjoyed our room and the food. The layout of the bathroom area is a little...unique, but when we heard Erika's tales of what it took to get the property up and running, we were willing to overlook a shower area that overlapped with the toilet area. She makes every effort to overcome the occasional power outages, but patience may be required if you want a hot shower (this is a common experience in Tanzania). We had read other reviews about the road leading to the Ahadi being a little off-putting, but we thought it was funny when the neighborhood kids ran up to our jeep calling "Wazungu!" as we drove past.

This was the only lodge we stayed in that had T.V., including some English language channels!

Loved, loved, loved the Ahadi Lodge. I think we spent 5 nights here in total and loved everything about it - we hope we can go back one day and if we do we will definitely stay here.

Erica, the owner, is a gem. Such a sweet lady and very helpful. She went out of her way to help us with anything we needed. She even let us use her computer one night. If you have questions about things to do in Arusha, her or her daughter can definitely help you out.

The food here is unreal - we actually still talk about it. We miss the pizzas - you have to try them.

The power goes out frequently in Arusha, but she has a back up generator that she turns on when that happens - its something that is out of her control so you can't fault her for that.

We stayed here after our hike on Kili and it was a perfect place to stay at after an experience like that. The gentleman that looks after the gardens cleaned our boots for us - such a nice touch.

The rooms are nice and very clean!! The garden and pool area beautiful and very well looked after. When we were driving to the hotel for the first time we were a bit nervous, but once inside, it was more then perfect.

We always felt safe and never had any problems. The only issue was the wifi was a bit weak, but its free.

If you plan on staying in Arusha after your hike, you should definitely consider this place. Erica and her daughter are wonderful hosts. Thanks again for everything.

We stayed at this lovely resort for 3 nights and we were made to feel truly at home. Erica, one of the owners, was lovely to chit chat with and her and her staff went above and beyond to accomodate our needs on many occasions... Allowing us to use the cell phone when the Internet was down, doing laundry on very short notice and caring for me when I arrived with a bout of food poisoning.
Erica is knowledgable about local sights to see for reasonable prices.
As previous reviews said, the resort is a little oasis behind a closed gate hidden down a very rough road. The rooms were very clean and very comfortable and the food was fantastic.
The pool was damaged in an earthquake so it had a bit of a leak, but it didn't impact our stay in the least.
Given that it is Africa, power does go off relatively regularly, the Internet isn't always reliable and the tv in the rooms is hit and miss. Again, for us, it really did not negatively affect our stay and I would definatley recommend a stay at Ahadi Lodge!
