Located on the side of a mountainous steep slope overlooking a swirling river this bread and breakfast (and dinner) establishment is isolated and definitely worth the drive to get here. Family operated, friendly service, unforgettable views, good food and comfortable rooms. Many hiking trails and close to the Lalashan Forest Preserve.

Room Tip: Can't go wrong wherever you are.

Many thanks to Brian and family (and Mr Png, our tour guide) for ensuring our 3D2N a very memorable and pleasant one!! We enjoyed ourselves tremendously especially the various farm tours, scenic walks and various 'must-see' spots conducted by Mr Png. Not forgetting retreating to our super clean and comfortable room after a tiring day. We will certainly visit you again very soon. Take care and all the best.

P/s Thank you for helping us get the manual 'coffee machine'. We are using it!!

Eight of us stayed at Fu-Yam for 2 nights stopover in Taiwan prior to returning home after our trip to the States. We arranged for the entire package stay inclusive of accommodation, food, tours and transportation. Everything was well planned and went smoothly and we were made to feel very welcome by the Chung family. We certainly managed to get over our jet-lag in this peaceful, beautiful homestay.

We were greeted at Taoyuan Airport at 6am by Chung Papa and Mr. Sky Wu with 2 SUVs suited to transport us and a significant amount of luggage along the mountain roads. They were careful drivers and we didn't feel tired from the 3 hour journey to Fu-Yam due to well planned stops for excellent breakfast and lunch and as well as other scenic spots (skywalk over a waterfall, reservoir etc.). The next day's tours were equally good - we even got to see a beautiful ancient cedar forest (divine trees!). The kids even had time to jump into the beautiful waterfall as well as do some fishing with rods prepared by Chung Papa himself.

We booked the new Li Yuan rooms and they were clean, very spacious and modern, and had enough comfortable bedding for families of 5 and 3 pax respectively. Both rooms had large bathtubs as well as separate shower rooms and the necessary amenities.

Chung Mama prepared delicious breakfast and dinner for us every day. We polished off the food everytime we came in for a meal. I hope she will write a recipe book and send me a copy when it is printed! We enjoyed the hospitality provided by the Chung family (and Mr. Sky) and the great conversations with them too.

We really enjoyed our time at Fu-Yam and hope to make a trip back to this lovely homestay one day.

If you're looking for a relaxing and comfortable vacation close to nature, Fu-Yam is the place for you. What makes Fu-Yam exceptional is how the Chung family makes everyone feel at home. 钟伯母 and Brian prepared delicious, fresh and wholesome food for breakfast and dinner. The days were spent sightseeing and the nights were spent chatting in the common area, while sipping tea or freshly-ground coffee. We also had an excellent guide in 彭先生, who drove us all over the mountains and shared a lot of information about the flora, fauna and life in the mountains and in Taiwan. I'm definitely going to stay in Fu-Yam again the next time I visit Taiwan.

We have booked a three nights stay in this tourist home after reading all the good comments. Truly, this is a must try home stay if you are visiting Taiwan. Although it took about 3hrs from airport to the home, it travels into the deep mountain of "lala" with winding roads and waterfalls views. If you are a city dweller and dying going back to Mother Nature, this is the right place!

We are travelling with my 18th mths baby and Mr zhong Ba (Owner of the home) pick us up from the airport, due to the delay of our flight, he drove us straight to the home. it was night time when we reached the home and we don't really get to see the surrounding. The dinner which is specially prepared by Zhong Ma (owner’s wife) was good and really home cook. The next day morning when we open the window, we were greeted by the nature beauty and singing birds. We then discovered that the whole property is situated in a valley between two mountains with a stream running through from a nearby waterfall.

The hospitality of the zhong family was really great; they even have a baby bath tub for our baby. Last but not least, in order to make our Taiwan B&B Trip complete, we took a package from Mr Zhong Ba who offer to bring us around sightseeing and staying in other B&Bs of different setting. We travel from mountain lala, to xing zhu -"Bei Pu" then to Miao li , "Nan zhuang", "Da Hu" and back to "Tao yuan". After staying in two other B&B's, we still think that "Fu Yam" is the best. We left Taiwan longing about zhong ma's good cook food and the beauty of "Fu yam". We will be coming back again for sure!

Paul

Room Tip: Ask for the new room that was built on higher ground. I would recommend to take a package from them.

Actually I have nothing more to write after reading the reviews written by the other raters... all the praises and compliments have already been said and repeated....
Maybe just a brief summary as I would genuinely like to commend on the Chung family... thank you very much for the great hospitality, the delicious breakfast & dinner and good chats! I am so glad that my parents enjoyed the 2-night stay in the tourist home, especially the conversations with chung-pa! What else does one ask for more for a holiday? :)

Taiwan has always captured my heart as a beautiful land with beautiful people. It's my third time there with my bestfriend and we're super glad that besides the colorful Taipei city, we gave the scenic Lalashan a try.
Our personal encounter with 彭叔叔, Brian & family and the pets there is simply unforgettable. We enjoyed the simplicity of life there with the utmost hospitality from the Chung family and our humorous, knowledgeable tour guide 彭叔叔. We went when Spring (Feb-Mar) just started and saw the elegance of nature. Flowers were blooming wildly everywhere in the crisp weather and everything seemed so fresh under the glistening sunshine. It was a tad cold for our preference but an interestingly different experience from our usual tropical climate. The itinerary was enlivened by our tour guide's informative narration. Transport arrangement was a definite plus point, as it conveniently fetched us from Taipei and then back to Taoyuan airport. We looked forward to our free & easy hours too because that's when we get to hang out around the vicinity and play with their 'celebrity dogs' Kilo, Agogo and Armani (we miss you guys!!) The little peaceful river bank down the front yard is not to be missed.
Overall, our stay at 福缘 was indeed filled with 福 (happiness) and 缘 (friendships). It completed our trip in a manner we never thought it would! Looking forward to the next time we return!

Room Tip: Go for the package that Brian would probably recommend upon your enquiry of their rooms. It's wo...
