“Excellent hotel, great location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

Stayed at Hotel Dua from 20 to 23 Oct, also our 1st visit to Kaohsiung (although this was our 3rd time to Taiwan).
Picked this hotel after reading the splendid reviews on tripadvisor. Indeed, very good hotel! Very comfortable stay here considering the relatively low rates.
1. Location: very conveniently located, just next to exit 6 of Formosa mrt
2. Amenities: Watsons & 7-11 right opposite hotel
3. Cleaniness: Very clean & comfortable
4. Hotel facilities: Self-service laundry service available + free wifi (during our stay)
5. Breakfast: Good spread & great environment
Overall, strongly recommend Hotel Dua. Will stay here again if we were to visit Kaohsiung again.
Cheers!

“Super Convenient”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

The communication with the hotel was quick and helpful over the email. Only when we arrived at midnight, we realised that the staff doesn't speak much English, which was not a problem as we are used to it in China. The biggest difference was that everyone honestly tried hard to be helpful.

The hotel location is perfect - 20 min. by metro from the airport, 20 meters form the Metro station, 3 blocks from the night market, a slow one hours walk from the harbour from, art district and a ferry pier.

We didn't wake up for the breakfast - coffee and tea is available at the lobby (at no extra expense) and the "chicken schnitzel + rice" local eatery right outside of the hotel was very convenient and inexpensive.

Rooms are stylish, quiet (the district is quiet during the weekend), well equipped. The bed is very wide and very comfortable.

We didn't use gym facilities.

I'd be glad to recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: YOu may want to get a higher floor and away from the elevator if you are too sensitive to noise, but...

“Best stay in Taiwan”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2012

Great experience! We wished we had stayed longer. I hope they'd maintain their standards as the years go by.

Location: The Formosa Boulevard station is just outside the hotel. To get to Liuhe night market, take the escalator down to the Formosa Boulevard station and exit from Exit 11.

Room: Clean & well-designed, comfortable beds & fluffy pillows, nice amenities, separate bath tub & shower area.

Service: Efficient and friendly staff.

Breakfast: Wide selection but average food. They offered a range of ice teas. It will be great if they could offer fruit (orange) juice too.

Room Tip: Rooms 1301 & 1302 have fantastic view of the city.

“Very cosy with warmth ambience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2012

Albeit the hotel used dark colours for its interior, it nevetheless exudes warmth, hospitality and comfort. The bed is par excellence. Free wifi and coffe/tea lounge at room and lobby is excellent. Good service personnels with very good attitude. However would encourage the staff to pick up and practise more languages other than taiwanese dialect and mandaring. Buffet has a good spread but would encourage change of menu every couple of days to enable the guests not to be bogged down with same old stuff. Kudos to the management and would return!

“A brand new hotel of excellent value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

This hotel only formally opened on April 2012 and therefore it is the best kept secret in town! If this hotel is located in Taipei it would have costed three times more.

This is a truly modern hotel -- the room is well-equipped with high quality hardware. All the staff I met are professional, courteous and efficient.

Buffet breakfast is of a high quality with good choice of food. The mini bar is free and you can access the lobby lounge for free all day long.

The location is actually very good as it is only a few minutes walk to the nearest subway station. Or 5 minutes by taxi to major shopping area. The only catch is that it is so new that even the taxi drivers have trouble finding the hotel.
