“Great Range of Dishes”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

The menu here is huge and features a wide range of traditional dishes along with some new ones. I have been assured by locals that crocodile and ostrich never featured on the menu in the olden days.

There are heaps of old artifacts to hold the interest should the conversation start to wane.
I marked the service down as no one came to refill the teapot.
The name of the restaurant listed here on Trip Advisor is quite wrong. It is actually called “Old Taiwan” not “New Tiawan’ as it is listed here. TA should get this fixed up.

“Worthy for a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

Tasty food, interesting interior decor. Worthy of a trip to try the food. Ordered sautéed boar with green chilli, cold steamed chicken, sautéed pork with sugar cane shoots. All were quite tasty and the smoothies were huge size. Restaurant decorated like a old times Taiwan bus station, very interesting and great photo-ops for friends and family.

“Authantic Taiwanese Foods - Great Theme”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2012

The decoration of this restaurant takes you all the way back to the 40s Taiwan down to every detail. The theme uses authentic items which can be traced back to those period. Everything from the seatings of the old "train station" (waiting area), mail box, electric poles, theater replica, general store & items to its variety of authentic Taiwanese food from various part of the island. This restaurant bring back memories from my dad's old family photo album. It has a collection of Tatung figurines from it's beginning all the way to modern day. A very interesting restaurant to taste various Taiwanese cuisines while immersing your self and your friends to the history of Formosa after the Japanese occupation. The foods are large portioned so best to go there with plenty of friends & family. Better yet, if you can, bring Taiwanese/ Chinese that is over the age of 70 and I am certain it will bring back so much memories for them.

“Unique Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2011

The portions in this restaurant are not meant for one person. It's more like for you to go with a bunch of people and order a bunch of stuff and share it. However, most of the food are traditional taiwanese food, and the setting and decorations of the restaurant is super unique. It's decorated to resemble what taiwan used to look like in the 60s or something. Very interesting place to eat. (:
