“Just a Vast Lake”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2012

Maybe it was wrong timing when I visited, the lake was empty - no lotus in sight. Anyhow, it was a relaxing to sit by the lake and enjoyed the local fruits. However, the pagodas over the lake were great art pieces constructed with very good craftsmanship.

“Suiting - a must see if you want to experience taiwan”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2012

Very Taiwan, beautiful, peaceful, unless you come for the harvest festival. A must see. One of my favorites in Kaohsiung.

Good place to go! A lake; with a lot of historical temple. One can spend two hours there.

“A nice place to relax in the city center”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2011

It's worth to spend at least half a day touring around the so called "Lotus Lake". There are a few attraction spots around the lake and you should not missed it.

I wanted to ride on the Amphibian Bus but unfortunately the ticket was all sold out! Do remember to book earlier and check the operating hours and day. The bus will take you around the city short trip and back to the lake and into the lake itself. Should be a fun ride!

I rented a bicycle since I couldn't manage to get the amphibian bus ticket. Cycling around the lake was fun too. You can see local people singing oldies, horse police along the way and visit the attraction spots without walking tiredly.

The rental is not expensive, if you purchased the amphibian bus ticket, you can also use the bycicle service for FREE!

A must visit place in Kaohsiung.

“Nice couple of hours - also called Lotus Pond”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2010

This is a man-made lake in the north of Kaohsiung. Nice for sight seeing and photos, especially on a clear day. There are several attractions in the area, so you can spend a couple of hours or a whole afternoon there. The Zuoying train and MRT station is somewhat nearby. To the south is the Zouying Old City and Turtle (Guishan)mountain (good for a short hike), to the north is Panpingshan. On the lake there are the Tiger and Dragon Pagodas and a couple of temples. There are some shops and food stalls along the road that rings the lake. I also found interesting the Chouchai Wetlands Park and the Indigenous Plant Garden to the east.
