“Nice beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2013

The place not very far from Hualien city, we visited this place on the way back from Taroko Gorge. While there is nothing special about the beach, the beach is very clean, and with so many people come there, there are no shop/stall around the beach, that makes the beach very different.

Also, there were a singer from indigenous tribe, that sang really well, with their own language, and i decided to buy one of her CD. His music and the beach fit really well for me :)

“Power of waves”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2013

After returning from my trip, I compared the photos online with the ones I had taken. The locals said usually in the months of Aug and Sept, the waves are bigger and stronger due to the monsoon. It was really raw nature power, with waves pounding and rolling, and wind sweeping into your face. The sight of big rocks and pebbled beach, adds to the raw and rugged feel. Also, try out the local delicacies such as charcoal baked sweet potatoes, home made rice dumplings peddled by the locals. Really simple, fresh and wholesome, cultivated from local lands.

“Pebble-pickers heaven”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2013

There was a huge crashing surf and strong winds that day, which provided a thrilling backdrop for beach-walking. It's a pebble beach, but not uncomfortable to stroll. And the stones are amazing -- Hualien coast marble with alternating light and dark striations. But don't try to take them through airport security -- the guards with confiscate them, perhaps for fear stones will be onboard weapons. Check them? Kids would get a kick out of this beach.

A beautiful stretch of pebble beach with stunning scenery that makes for a great stroll ... just be careful of getting sunburnt!

“Cozy end of the Pacific”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2013

The east shore of Taiwan is a lot more fascinating and Hualien is the most charming edge. This beach is not for you to which there. Sitting on the big and small pebbles, watching the mountains, the sky and the sea melting and breathing with all the natural sounds, you may find laying down with a towel for a sunbathing a bit inconvenient and superficial. However, you will still get tanned even in the smallest rain drops and you will find yourself much cleaner than before, plus you will have perfect pictures in whatever angle.
