Located within a couple of minutes' walk of the Hualien train station, this little gem is a delight. It's quite small and the atmosphere is friendly and engaging. Their menu offers dozens of different coffees and teas and a good selection of light meals. We had dropped in for a lunchtime snack. We had been in Taiwan for about 10 days and were hankering for some comfort food. And their club sandwich nailed it. At $100NT and free tea, it was delicious and a real bargain. BUT to top it off, a local musician sat down at the keyboard and played some of the sweetest jazz piano I've heard anywhere. It seems they have musicians rotate through on a regular basis.
If you're anywhere near the Hualien train station and have the time ( and hunger) pay the Black Bobby a visit. They've got free WiFi, too.
