“Can only say great things”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2013

Realive is a great place to stay. We've been traveling for 7 months and this was the best bed I have been in...so cozy and comfortable, with awesome pillows! We got upgraded to the triple room and it was extremely clean and spacious. It would be nice if there was a shower curtain in the bathroom so the water didn't spray everywhere...on that note, there was lots of hot water and great water pressure. There were large wardrobes for clothing, large clean towels and shampoo and soap was provided in an environmentally friendly way (no small packages). I was happy to see that toothbrushes were not provided as this is wasteful and we were given a heads up to bring our own by Georgie, who is managing the guesthouse.
Georgie is fantastic! She was waiting for us at the train station with a taxi arranged, she answered our endless questions. She also took the time to show us the map and make suggestions for trying Taiwan food at the night market, good places to eat nearby, recommendations on our options for seeing the Taroko Gorge, and she gave us an alternative hike to try when one of the ones we wanted to visit was closed.
Realive let us leave our bags for the day so we could explore the city before catching our train at night. Staff are super friendly and always wanting to help you.
The location was pretty good. Definitely take the arranged taxi from the station...it's cheaper than finding your own and a good hike. About a half hour walk to the night market and 15 minutes to the centre of town.
We would definitely stay again! Thanks so much Georgie for everything!

Room Tip: The beds in the triple are heaven on earth!

I stayed here for a night on Saturday - the lady who manages the place, Anima, was extremely hospitable. I was really touched that she took the trouble to specially prepare an early (not to mention sumptuous) breakfast for me the following morning as I had to check out by abt 715am.

Also met two friendly Hualien locals at the common area/ dining hall who gave me some good recommendations to check out. If you don't feel like going out, there is an entire shelf of books (mostly Chinese) to browse through.

The room was very clean and bed very comfortable. Wld definitely come back here if I visit Hualien again.
