“NO HANDRAIL IN SHOWER ROOM AND NO HDMI ON TV”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2014

This is my second time staying here and I am sure this hotel should be one of the better choices in Hua Lien, but I found some functional problems in the room. I will stay here many times in the future also, so I would like to give you some suggestions;

1. No handrail in shower booth.
It should be dangerous during washing in the booth without grasping a handrail even for NOT the disabled.
The wall seems strong enough to be installed a handrail.

2. No HDMI inlet on TV.
Nowadays almost all middle class hotels prepare TVs with HDMI inlet in their rooms but according to the staff, they have none in this hotel.
I think quite many people will want to display on TV their pictures or movies from PC or other devices using HDMI cable, and in my case, I wanted to check my photograph details on TV. But it was impossible.
The TV seemed quite cheap and no brand. It was a pity such TV was still used in this fashionable middle class hotel.

Hotel location was not as convenient as initially thought but it was in close proximity to the major walking streets in Hualien.

The lobby was filled with fresh lillies on our arrival, the furnishings were modern and elegantly done. But it was the service staff that made the deepest impression during our stay. They went out of their way everytime, be it food / itinerary suggestions or logistical arrangements they always eludes genuine concern and care when assisting. On our day of arrival they recommended we take their in-hse bikes to the nearby eateries and make various sightseeing suggestions before the official check-in time.

My husband and i fell ill the day after we arrived and if not for the service staff it could have been worse going through this horrible ordeal. Hotel staff always walks us to the cab / tour bus when we leave and whenever we are back from the hospital / clinic they are right at the door step helping you into the lobby (as though they are looking out for our return).

When we had to cancel our taroko trip (reserved through the hotel) due to our physical conditions, they worked magic in explaining our conditions to the tour agent, and we managed to cancel the tour with full refund.

Till the end of our 2 nights stay, we looked back and can't be more approeciative of their warm & sincere hospitality with special mention of one of their staff - Ms. Guo Yi Fang (郭宜芳).

With service like that, you are sure to be taken care of anywhere you are. Oh and did i mention there are constant supply of drinks and light snacks available in the lobby throughout the day for your use if you want to while you surf the net or hang around chilling.

We will definitely recommend this property!

The hotel is not as convenient as it promoted. However it is indeed within walking distance (15-25 min walk) to train station and popular shopping/eating area.
The room is big and tidy. There is a small balcony. No good view, but will be good for smokers. Love the design of the bathroom, simple and tidy. By the way, wifi inside room is good.
The service is good. stayed in Beauty Inn for 2 days. The receptionist was able to recognize us and pass us the right key without us asking. Thumbs up!
The breakfast is fine. Porridge, bee hoon and toast are available.

Entering the Beauty Stay I was somewhat surprised, the lobby had a distinct musty smell, which a Taiwanese colleague explained was disinfectant, but to me it was off putting. The slight odor was offset easily by the wonderful service, the reception went out of their way to make our stay pleasant and even stood up every time I walked through the lobby! Walking down the stairs in the evening, you can hear French music engulfing the reception area.

Our room was located on the first floor which meant stairs, although they have a goods lift for your luggage. The porter graciously refused my offer of a $100 NTD tip.

Our room was spacious, the bathroom had the same odor that the reception area had, but was well equipped and decor was very stylish. We had a balcony with a limited view and no furniture as such, but the general comfort of the room was well beyond what we expected for the sub $100 AUD pricetag. We found multiple English TV stations including Nat Geo and Discovery.

Oddly, for a Taiwanese hotel there was no wifi in the room, but they do serve free breakfast which included a decent coffee machine, and Asian choice buffet, they have toast for the less brave.

Location is a little out of the centre, we had a car and they do have bikes for guests to use. Of note, Agoda call this hotel Beauty Inn not Beauty Stay.

I liked this hotel, I cannot recall finding such service in any 3 star property in Asia of late.

The location is stunning! Because it has wonderful scenery on its left side, you can jogging along the riverside. It is near to town too, dont worry to get hungry because there are shops are just at your corner, you just have to walk 5-10 minutes. There is one shop which is selling fried dumpling abt US1 to get 10 dumplings in a box, I forgot the shop name but it is so delicious and well mix with Taiwan beer.

The service is great great great to the max. The staff there are so friendly and CARING! I was trying to ride the bicycle (owned by them and FOC for guest), the staff helped me to unlock the bike and showed us which way we should go and then. When we are back, they will offer water and snacks (maybe they are not busy at that time), but their service is beyond better. Thanks!

Room is modern and clean. Just like their photos. Nothing to complain. Breakfast are good for me (Chinese foods and I am Chinese too). Very peaceful place to long/short stay. Definitely will go back again!

We stayed at the Beauty Stay Hotel for 3 nights in March and enjoyed it. The hotel's location is a little strange because there isn't much in the immediate area. It is a short walk to the train and bus station but a much longer walk downtown. There aren't too many restaurants nearby but enough for a short stay (we liked the new curry place about 2 blocks away). There's also a 7-11 about 4 blocks from the hotel.

Our room was small but comfortable. No real complaints except that there was only one bedside table.

Breakfast was very good. I'm not sure what the previous reviewer meant, but it is a buffet style breakfast. The coffee machine makes good coffee and there were enough dishes to choose from.

The hotel was not particularly helpful when it came to advice for exploring Taroko National Park. They told us we could hire a car and driver or book a bus tour. We said we would think about it and later found out about the hop on hop off bus that goes through the park. An all day ticket is quite cheap compared to the other options and allows lots of flexibility; the bus station is a short walk from the hotel. Too bad the hotel staff didn't mention it.

Overall, we liked Beauty Stay and would probably stay there again. The rooms are comfortable, the breakfast is good, and the out of the way location is still okay.

Beauty Stay is tucked in a corner about 12 minutes walk from the Hualien train station, and 12 minutes walk to the night market. The rooms are spacious and clean. There is no lift and most guests are housed in the 2nd level. Breakfast is cooked (not buffet), and there are coffee/tea & biscuits throughout the day. The staff are very hospitable: the moment you arrive, they will advise you where to go and will give you an English version of the city map. If you arrive by train, take a taxi (not expensive) because if you ask people on the streets about this hotel, not many know about it. It's almost like a kept secret that a gem is hidden and unknown to many.
