“Surprisingly Nice; extra charges for small things”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2013

This place has this mix of Swazi-European feeling! Situated inside a lush botanical garden, there are two rooms in a hut style house. Room is elegantly decorated with all the necessary amenities and everything inside the room is in working (hot water, shower, hairdryer, air condition). Bathroom is spacious with double sinks, a separate bath tub and shower. Extra fees for in room wifi.

We ordered room service for dinner but the food was mediocre. Salmon was overcooked. However, the breakfast was very good with lots of selection and freshly brewed coffee; extra charges for hot breakfast selections though. Breakfast service was attentive and the dining room was lavishly decorated.

Staff was very friendly and helpful with the exception of the reception, who was not too enthusiastic.

Overall a nice place to stay while visiting Swaiziland.

Amazing place with a real luxury feel. Restaurant was well set with a real spacious appeal.

Gardens are beyond this world.

The food was ok, not five star.

However the time we ate there there was a people with several women sitting around him.. I didn't really know what to make of this situation ? We were not locals so I don't know what was going on, but when I went to the bathrooms there were a lot of young girls around.. I didn't get involved.

The hotel is absolutely lovely, big modern rooms with classid design, absolutely georgeous gardens. The food serves nice but meat was not really tasty (3 of us ordered different meal and nobody like any of them).

I have recommended Summerfield's to many people and chose to stay there whenever I travel to Swaziland. I am not fond of the family style rooms that are in the big building, not because they aren't fine, but the decor is poorly done compared to the rest of the resort.
The restaurant is fine for evening meals and the convenience of walking back to your room after a lovely meal and wine is a valuable addition to your stay.
Breakfast is full service, a buffet with made-to-order hot entrees.

The staff has always been engaging in a pleasant way.

Beautiful grounds and luxurious rooms which were good value. Swaziland is a beautiful country which I would highly recommend visiting for a few days. We stayed 3 nights but could easily have still found things to do for a week. My only criticism is that the main restaurant service was not great in comparison to the rest of the hotel and the cocktail you order is unlikely to be what you are expecting! The breakfast served on the patio in the hotel garden was excellent and I've never seen so much choice before!

The garden setting of this hotel is beautiful. Our room was large, clean and very comfortable. The food in the restaurant was ok and the service was good. We enjoyed our stay and will probably return next time we are in Swaziland.

Definitely not something you expect to see in a country like Swaziland. The hotel exceeded my expectations both in terms of quality and beautiful setting. The staff is very nice and accommodation. Sometimes it may take a while to get a certain things right but the service is still way better compared to other hotels in the kingdom. If you cannot stay at the hotel it is worth at least a visit to enjoy the beauty and serenity of the gardens. The only annoying thing is the peacocks. They are pretty to look at and add a character to the place but their cries at 5am can be quite disturbing.
