We were recommended this place by a Sri Lankan friend living in the UK, who also told us to make a reservation if we wanted to sit outside by the pool, which we did. We had the tuna sashimi and corn fritters to start, both delicious and decent sized portions. Having looked at the previous reviews we opted for the lobster curry for main course as everyone seemed to agree it was the best thing on the menu. They weren't wrong. It's was delicious. However, had we known the size of the portion we probably wouldn't have had starters as we ended up leaving some of the sides because we were so full.
The place itself is very stylish and cool, although has a more European feel than typically Sri Lankan, which was also reflected in the menu.
The service was good - both prompt and friendly.
On the whole its a nice place to visit for a treat - the bill came to around £70 for 2 of us which is pretty expensive here, but saying that, we did order wine and lobster so we knew what to expect. I would probably give the place 4.4/5 rather than the full 5 (but there is no option to do so) simply because the service and surroundings are not quite as polished as you would expect for a 5* place. Worth a visit though.
