“Romance by the beach . Sea view from all sides of your room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2013

Small ten room boutique hotel. Visited with a friend. Rooms are great modern wooden flooring with an open all glass bathroom which has a huge tub with a sea view. Seperate shower cubicle again with a distant sea view . Seperate toilet area. Though the bathroom being all gglass is slightly tough to use if the other person opens the door.
Food is good at the standalone restaurant wooden styling again. Huge benches .. again sea view . The beach is right infront . Pool is small though . The food at the restaurant needs to get their pricing right for veg food and also add veg options.
The lady at reception needs training. Shes not customer friendly.
the safe was not functioning and the door was not locking properly when we went and stayed like that for two nights with much help.the common toilet at lobby is mostly spoilt and has plumbing issues. The beds in the room need a makeover . very low and very uncomfortable too. The pillows were not of a resort standard..
spoilt

Superb rooms, great sunsets from the Jacuzzi. Food options are limited but tasty(I don't mind spicy food). Service was excellent & the staff is ever-smiling & courteous.
Great place to relax & chill with family or friends.

Room Tip: Rooms on the second floor offer a great view from the balcony & the jacuzzi.

If your that long individual or couple who just want some quiet time by the sea in luxury, then this place is worth considering. The room was amazing and just overlooking the sea. The food at best was average. Another hotel by the same owners was being built next door but the noise from the construction site was quite literally knocking on the walls.
The HSBC credit card offer also seem more like a gimmick. When we called the hotel they said no rooms were available till the following month. However we managed to book online. There were rooms available for online bookings but those didn't attract any credit card offers. From what we gathered the hotel is being primarily marketed to overseas customers, many of whom are regulars. Why HSBC thought of offering this hotel to locals beats me. Maybe they were scraping the barrel just to get some hotel on their card offers.
An OK place but the luxury is not worth the price for locals or budget conscious travelers.

The rooms are spacious & gorgeous with a lovely sea view (in the bedroom & bathroom). The unique layout with all 10 rooms facing the sea is the specialty. Wifi is not available in the rooms as advertised. So you are better off with a mobile connection. Service is good. Friendly staff (but misheard the menu few times). Very limited choice of food, specially the Sri Lankan range was nothing to write home about. And their Jacuzzi is just a big bath tub. Given the high price tag as a boutique hotel, they could have done much better. But again kudos for the architect!!!

Room Tip: All the 10 rooms have the same sea view. So there's no difference.

We wanted to book this hotel on a HSBC offer and the staff answering the phone told us that they cannot take bookings in the evenings, although the bank instructions did not say so. Only 2 rooms were left, so we tried to book online trough the hotel website, not realizing that it redirected to booking.com. When we called next morning they told that our booking cannot be cancelled and we will not get the discount offered by the HSBC . The card centre informed us that the payment has still not gone through and we could cancel the payment if we wished so. The hotel contacted us told us that because of the mistake we did they will offer us full board. They were very unhelpful though we believe they could have rectified it.

The hotel location is beautiful and serene with comfortable rooms. Jacuzzi was actually a large bath tub without shower gel. The containers named conditioner were actually containing body lotion. No wifi was available in rooms as promised.

The staff treats local tourists in a different way which you will realize if you go through other reviews. We had to wait for more than 20 min to get our tea after having the breakfast. Dinner was good. For lunch we were given fried rice and cuttle fish with an onion salad only, after paying 56,000 rupees for 3 adults and 1 child for 2 rooms for 1 night! When compared to other boutique hotels and some 5 star hotels which were offering cheaper rates at this off season, this hotel was much over priced with a very poor lunch which we will not even make at home.

We went as a family with a toddler. Service was very friendly and obliging. Rooms are big and well kept in most areas but can see the deterioration in hotels near the sea but that is not obvious.
Food was very good and they did cater for most of our requests, especially for the child.
Swiming pool is not too big. For the size of the hotel just right. Terraced area was a bit dated. Poolside could do with towels kept ready without having to request them.
Rooms are not child friendly. The nice decor ornaments are reachable by children and often can endup in a disaster when they pick those up and drop on the floor.
But over all, I would much prefer to stay in a small hotel like this over any big ones.
