“room ok and seemingly clean though overpriced, BUT WE GOT LICE!!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013

We stayed here for a weekend, 2 nights. The room itself was alright - nicely decorated and had everything one could need including air conditioning, computer, toiletries, complimentary water. It seemed very clean and it actually smelled of what I thought was some kind of disinfectant, so I thought to myself the previous reviews that complain about cleanliness were overstated. There was a small problem with water leaking into the bathroom from the air con (which other reviews also complained about), but the manager was very helpful and provided us with towels so we can keep our floor dry, and offered to change our room the next day. We chose not to change rooms as it was clean water, overall wasn't a lot of leaking (it soaked through maybe 2 towels in one day), and we didn't want to take time from our short vacation schedule to lug our clothes and things. All in all, I thought the hotel was alright, maybe overpriced for what it was but what to do on a busy weekend like that. The staff was nice and spoke English enough to understand us, they allowed us to check out a few hours later, they mailed some clothes that we forgot there back to Seoul... I was ready to give them a chance. UNTIL WE DISCOVERED 1 WEEK LATER THAT WE HAD HEAD LICE!!! MY HEAD HAD BEEN ITCHY SINCE OUR RETURN FROM THIS TRIP. At this point, we went into a pharmacy in Seoul, explained the situation and asked for remedies. We were given a shampoo, some gel with a comb, and a spray to be used on furniture and around the house to avoid reinfestation.Upon getting home and starting treatment, myself and my boyfriend included, imagine our disdain when we realized the spray we had been given at the pharmacy smelled EXACTLY like what I thought was a disinfectant in our Benikea room. I already suspected we got the head lice from this hotel since we were not in close proximity with other people, BUT FOR THEM TO BE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND STILL OFFER THAT ROOM?? TRY TO FIX IT QUICKLY WITH SOME SPRAY AND HIDE IT FROM US?? HELLO!!! THAT ROOM NEEDED TO HAVE BEEN QUARANTINED FOR AT LEAST 48 HOURS!!! There is a slight chance they didn't know about it and spraying for lice is part of their routine cleaning, in which case it's just stupid because it's not 100% effective. We are super pissed of. Needless to say, we are taking lice shampoo with us on our next trip around Korea and will use it just in case, so we don't end up with the critters again. All the more unpleasant as treatment options for head lice in Korea seem to include only the most basic shampoo, useless plastic comb, and combing solution, and it is VERY DIFFICULT TO GET RID OF THEIR EGGS as these creatures are becoming increasingly resistant to pesticides.

Stayed 1 night Benikea Press. Room only had a small window in the bathroom. Aircon in the bedroom. The bed was nice and firm, quiet room, shower and toilet roomy and good. Toiletries provided. TV and computer in the room also. All in all a good quality room, pity about the window but a nice stay. I would be happy to stay again.

Recommended for small budget s. Currently they build a building at the front so it can be noisy. The lobby is ugly and the furniture is worn out. Bad tube is huge can't be easily filled. room was big and comfortable.

I am currently doing this review in room 6009! We got 4012 at first but the TV and WIFI wasn't working. So, the guy kindly moved my family upstairs and this room is absolutely SPACIOUS. i love the WC with the remote to bidet and warm toilet seat! Lovely.

Here are pros and cons of the hotel.

Pros:
- Good location. It is directly opposite KBS Busan and there are endless shops around the corner and down the streets. You don't have to worry about not having a late night snack if you want!

- Near Gwangnalli beach! This beach is gorgeous so don't forget to visit it! It is about 10 minutes walk from the hotel. Lovely.

- Room is great and spacious. Big beds, new furnitures. Love the toilet and the vanity basin!

- Lovely personal touch with coffee powder and little cookies for guests!

- Has all the basic amenities.

Cons:

- Ok, there is a separate shower in the bathroom... But when I entered it, and started the rainforest shower, I realized that there was no drainage for the water to be drained out. It is really weird?! Because the shower is a cubicle itself and I certainly expected some sort of drainage in there for the water to flow through. But nope. I ended up showering in the bathtub with the shower head. Weird architecture. -.-

- The computer lags a little.

- Maybe now its not really peak season, the hotel is quiet.

I like this hotel besides the cons I have mentioned. Lovely rooms and great place. Plus, I got this room at a great price from agoda. You can consider living here with your family of 4!

Room Tip: Tell taxi drivers that this hotel is opposite KBS Busan at Namseong road. It helps because taxi driv...

Easy enough access to the subway, bus stop at the door step (to/fro Busan downtown), few minutes walk to dining spots (local & western) and Gwangali Beach. Hotel is directly across the road from KBS Busan ie. excellent landmark to tell the taxi driver. Bus or train stops will also mention KBS - thumbs up!
Room was modern & well-equipped. Room door was a little stuck at times. Other than coffee/tea facilities, they also gave little biscuits. All complimentary. Flat screen TV was real big. Bathroom spacious too. We took the traditional room (sleeping on the floor) as we wanted the local experience plus it was cheaper. Only tricky bit was the heated floor - the thermostat seemed to have a mind of its own and keep rising, had to keep turning over to avoid getting singed. Fortunately, we could open the window and let in the cool breeze. View outside faced the main road & KBS Building - our room looked into the carpark but there were beautiful cherry blossom trees in full bloom to make up for no beach view. The room also had double windows which spared us from the traffic noise. There was complimentary PC usage at the reception as well as a microwave oven - kinda strange to see them side by side. Wouldn't there be EM interference if someone was reading emails and nuking food at the same time? Lift broke down one day but the staff directed us to the service lift which worked just as well. There's indoor parking for those who drive.
On morning of departure, heavy rain beset Busan. Helpful staff called us a taxi and when none showed, he went out to the roadside to hail one down. Good on him!

Room Tip: Not sure if rooms on higher floors can have a view of the beach, but you can always ask.

We had the two room Suite. great size well renovated - but - too few power points and all hidden behind furniture - glass panel doors between bedrooms (no privacy). No curtains or shutters on second bedroom window so light poured in waking you up before sunrise - light goes in to main bedroom thru glass doors. Agree with other comments heating system too complex and data only in Korean. Floor heating had been set at 30 degrees ! Lighting switching similarly complex. Was told the air conditioner only available in summer ! Lack of places to put bags (this is a suite) should have fold up bag tables in closet. Great location near beach and many good food outlet options. Staff very good and no doubt you would get used to "operating the room" after a couple of days

This hotel is just around the corner from the beach and nightlife. Room was excellant. Although don't turn on the floor heaters when it is hot outside. Don't mess with buttons by the beds.YOU WILL BURN UP! We stayed in the family suite with two large beds. The room was huge. One bed was a tempurpedic bed that raised up like a hospital bed. The other was plain. The bathroom was spacious also with a huge jacuzzi bath and a shower with the sprinkler head. Two computers also in the room in Korean of course. Soap, shampoo, conditioner hung on the wall for use. Men's amenties on the counter. Guess there are more men staying than women. Overall, very nice stay!!
