“Reinforces the potential risks of war....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2012

Evokes powerful images of what was and still is in some way a forgotten war. It is a quiet reminder of the fragile nature of life on the Korean Penisula. A most enjoyable and enlightening experience.

“Excellent memorial”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2012

We took on board what 'AndyinBusan' mentioned on TA and visited the Busan Museum before our visit to the UN memorial, it really did enhance our experience and have a better understanding of the memorial. As we were arriving the flag raising ceremony was occurring, this happens every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month at 2pm, it was a special event to witness, with the military band present playing and matching by. The memorial is very well kept and at the time of our visit a tranquil space in a busy city, the gardens are immaculate.

“An oasis of calm and beautifully kept all year round”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2012

This is one of my favorite places in Busan. It's strange to find myself saying that a cemetery is one of my favorite places, but go here and you'll discover why. It's laid out perfectly on an east-facing slope, with beautiful rose bushes by each grave and wide pathways leading you to every corner of the cemetery. Don't miss any of this place, I recommend you start at the chapel, watch the short video there, then look at the photos and other things on display in the small museum, then head for the very highest point in the cemetery and work your way around through every part of it, finishing down at the duck pond in the far left corner of the park. Even better is to visit the neighboring Busan Museum first, as this will take you from prehistoric times up to the start of the Korean War, and then visit the cemetery, which will tell you more about this conflict through the sight of the thousands of graves and tens of thousands of engraved names of the UN dead than any museum could ever do.

“Sombering”

A walk here will leave you awestruck at the international sacrifice to make South Korea the free nation it is today. Don't miss it.

“You Must Visit This Place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2010

You don't have to be a member of the military or a military buff to appreciate the United Nations Memorial Cemetery. It's the only one like it in the entire world. It honors men and women from more than a dozen nations who died during the Korean War. Hundreds of people are buried here. It's a humbling experience to visit this place, and the aura here is one of respect and gratitude. This definitely needs to be on your list of places to visit in Busan. The Busan City Tour Bus stops here, and for about $10, you can hop on and off all day long.
