“excellent location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2013

We booked the ondol room for 2 nites. Not much trouble trying to get to the hotel from the ktx station by cab with instructions from the hotel. When we arrived, we were quite surprised that the place seriously looks and feels like a love motel. This first impression gradually changed as we stayed on. It felt more like a little family run place by the time we left so that was good. The room was very homey. With a water dispenser inside the room, fully equipped toilets and a dressing table full of facial products! Mattresses were comfy especially with the heated floors.
The owner gave us a basic introduction to the surroundings and as we walked around, we realised everything in busan is literally at the motel's doorstep. And dont bother walking up the steep slope in front of the motel. Everytime we wanted to go back to the motel, we walked through the very happening shopping street to the escalator and let the escalator do the hard work of bringing us up.
Overall excellent value for money place. We will definitely be back.

Positives: Good location next to Yongdusan Park and Busan tower, walking distances to Lotte, shopping and market districts, Jalgalchi fish market. Friendly owner who supplied maps etc.
Negatives: I booked the motel well in advance, based on ratings on tripadvisor, and was really disappointed with the room itself. It was on the 2nd floor, window view of a nasty brick wall. The room was very dated and looked nothing like the pictures on tripadvisor. Cracks and chips everywhere, power sockets did not function well, it was cheap and sleazy.
An average rating is generous, and only given because of the owner's friendliness. Would not be going back, sorry.

The owners sent us a prior email before arriving to give us directions to the motel. Upon arriving, they also gave us an introduction of shopping, food and sightseeing locations around the area. They also provide printout directions and maps to places with good food, that was really thoughtful of them. Although the place looks rather old and worn out, but the couple running the place was extremely helpful and friendly, giving a warm homely feel to the place. There was a jaccuzi, shower area, computer and a huge flat screen tv in the room (maybe 40-50 inch?).

A cab from the KTX train station to the motel cost around 3000-4000 won. But if you're heading to the KTX, you could get the owner to drive you there for about the same price. Ask the owner for good places to eat and he will provide you with some directions. Head down to the Vesta Spa (Jimjilbang near haeundae beach) in the evening, it has a nice view of the beach and the sunset.

The location is ideal for a sightseeing trip in Busan. You are within minutes from shopping, restaurants, museums, the subway and several markets.
Due to the popular area, you will find Western, Korean, Japanese and Chinese restaurants. The Lotte Department Store is a five minute walk from the motel and you will find great food options as well as some high-end shopping departments. The rooms are spacious with many accommodations. Plus, the staff will hold your bags before and after your check-in/out time allowing you some extra sightseeing hours.
The staff was delightful and made our stay in Busan enjoyable and comfortable. The owner speaks English and is punctual with responding to e-mail messages. We had several questions before our arrival and he answered them immediately.

Sightseeing suggestions for the area: Taejungdae Park, Busan Tower, Lotte Department Mall, Yongdusan Park, Jagalchi Fish Market, UN Memorial, China/Russia Town.

The owner of the hotel, Mr. Son, is superb. He speaks pretty decent English, and is very helpful. As a bonus, he even gives guests free movies to watch! Plus before we came, he gave us very detailed instructions, informing us how to get to the motel.

The location of the motel is excellent too. We never needed to take the Busan metro at all, except once to the Haeundae beach area, which is out of town anyway. Everything is literally at most a 15 minute walk away.

Only drawback is that the rooms are dated. The furnishings look older than me. The ceiling of our bed had a strange mural of planets with black light, plus a disco-ball like thing that changed colours every 30 seconds. The bedside lights weren't very good for reading in bed either.

Still, if I ever go back to Busan, I would not hesitate to stay here again. Given it's location and service (plus OK rooms), the place is a STEAL at it's current price.

The location is good, except that u have to walk up the slope to the hotel, however, there is another alternative route whereby u may take the escalator up to make your way back to hotel - go down by slope, go up by escalator.
In less than 15 minutes, u would arrive in the heart of a shopping area, & wide choices of restaurants.
What I must appraise is the friendly boss & his wife.
They welcome queries, consultation at all times..
And, what impressed me the most was, my 4 yr old son was then suffered from an allergy, his face was very very swollen.
My husband & I panic, & asked the lady boss for directions to the clinic.
She told us to wait for the boss, who can speak better English...

When the boss came back, he offered to bring us to the clinic because he said that most likely the doctor or nurses may not be able to speak English..

As its nearby, he walked us there, but for some reasons that clinic doesn't treat little kids, we walked to a pediatrician clinic in the cooling weather.
What's more, as I'm pushing my baby in a pram, walking around wasn't even easy, moreover my boy was sick, we walked quite slowly.. Later tge boss carried my boy on his shoulders & walked quite a distance..!!!! We felt so bad, but really grateful..
When we arrived at the clinic, while waiting, we talked, then we realized that he is actually in a hurry because that day was a Saturday & he's supposed to be busy, yet he's so kind to even walk us there & stayed with us till we collect the medicine.
And we actually took up almost 2 hours of his time, & yet he insisted on waiting with us...

We dare not hold him up any further, thus, we told him we would like to walk around & have our lunch. He asked what we would like & he gave us the directions to the restaurant. The food in the restaurant he referred us was superb!!!! Love the fish steamboat, besides the fresh sashimi & seafood, yummy!!!!

If u don't know what to eat, ask him, I bet he would recommend u something gr8!!!!

We will definitely go back there again if we were to go to Busan..

Do not need survey more regarding this Motel, just experience it then you should no regret...

It is everything good to me and my wife visited Busan on Jan 2013...

The owner is very friendly and provided us a lot of informative introduction and It is located at strategy location to bus stop, subway station, yongdusan park, seoul tower and downtown by walking distance less than 10 minutes only.

So to visitors to Busan, this is the great motel strongly recommended for overnight. You will know it after stayed.
