4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2013

It's a good hotel. Has everything a hotel needs for a short stay. The options for breakfast was pretty impressive. I didn't want to take it with breakfast originally because I figured it was 10$ for just bagels and cereals but they have way more than that. Didn't matter, you can just eat there anyway and pay or add it to the room. You even get to pay less if you just want to have bread or cereal or just some fruits.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013

Stayed here on a very busy Friday night in August en route to a hiking destination in the Adirondacks. Despite the rush of guests, literally everything about the experience was smooth and professional from start to finish. No snags, no rudeness, no discomfort. The representatives on the phone and in person were courteous, informative, and pleasant, even when they clearly had a lot on their plate. Our planned late-hour arrival was handled smoothly, pleasantly, and with no delay or confusion. The staff even allowed us to leave one car on the lot for a few hours after checkout as well, which helped with our trip arrangements. Very accommodating and truly made everything work without a hitch.

The lobby seemed spotless, and the room was spotless too, with only one small exception of some pretty significant dust behind furniture and around the mini-fridge--though not anywhere else. The room was fully stocked with towels and was very quiet -- could not hear any of our neighbors. Excellent shower with great water pressure. The only noise issue was the rather loud mini-fridge and the constant soft wash of traffic noise from I-90, which is pretty close to the hotel. None of this kept us awake, though the fridge in particular could be annoying for some people. The freshly-made, firmness-adjustable beds seemed unusual at first because of the adjustability mattress, but they were actually amazing - I got a great night's sleep. As some other reviewers have noted, the air conditioner was a little bit loud, as is standard at many hotels, but it worked great and did not keep us awake. It was not musty or rattly.

Best of all, breakfast in the morning was delicious and included a range of fruits as well as eggs and bacon etc., and there were kitchen staff who make omelettes to order. They seemed harried but always polite and friendly. There was an attentive waitress serving coffee as well.

I didn't use the pool or fitness room, but when I poked my head into both they seemed clean and in good working order. A few families with kids were using the pool and seemed to be enjoying it.

In sum, this is a terrific hotel for travelers passing through the region, as well as a great home base for anyone visiting the Albany area. Although not cheap, it's also nowhere near as expensive as what you'd pay for the same services in Saratoga or Lake George. You get much more for your money here than at most comparably priced hotels. Highly recommended. I would gladly stay here again.

I stayed here both on my way to and from Rochester, NY (from Boston). The staff at the front desk and the in room dining folks were super friendly and accommodating. My room on the first night was a King standard room. It was clean and bright - just like the rest of the hotel. I appreciated the free (albeit small) garage to park in, to get to and from my room quickly with heavy luggage in tow. My room on my return trip was a King suite. WOW! This room was incredibly spacious. The jetted tub was sized for two (worked beautifully for my 6'6 hubby). Having the 2nd bathroom was a nice amenity. Conveniently located right off the highway (and close to a gas station). Overall we had a great experience - it's definitely going to become our go to hotel, en route to family vacations in upper state NY.

This was my first stay at this Hilton Garden location in Albany. Although centrally located within the Capital region (airport and downtown) it was more distant to restaurants. This property does have a very nice dining area, though not sure if it is proper to call it a restaurant. It appeared many travelers were taking advantage of this and it is nice to have a bar on site. I only ate breakfast here and found the staff to be very polite and helpful.

The hotel was apparently booked so there was no parking available without going next door, but I didn't see this as an inconvenience as both lots are essentially blended. Finding the back door was inconvenient as the only doors visible were for employees only or special meeting rooms, so I had to go to the front. The fitness room was huge but had a lot of empty space. The pool was very nice.

My room was spacious as was the bathroom but it was also designated for handicap persons. I don't like taking these rooms but have little choice as to what is assigned. All was very clean and the bed very comfortable. I have no complaints for this visit.

I have stayed here twice while traveling thru Albany. It is convenient to the highway. Also there are many good restaurants within a few miles. A drive through the SUNY Albany campus, which is across the street, is a nice diversion.

I stayed at this hotel overnight for a business trip. It was very clean and affordable, and was close to the downtown area. The restaurant was very large and offered a wide variety of food for dinner and breakfast the next day. They had coffee, cookies and fruit available in the lobby all day. I would definitely stay there again.

The room was very clean. The pool was a great relief from the high 90 degree temp outside. Like the ground floor parking so we didn't get wet when raining. The staff were very friendly with anything we needed, especially the breakfast hostess. She explained how the buffet worked.
