We visited the Seychelles and stayed at the Constance Ephelia for 12 days, the hotel itself was in Mahe and in a glorious setting and we had access to both the beach and several pools. The hotel had 5 restaurants however our favourite was Adam and Eve the Asian restaurant, we ate at this one the most and as it was both mine and my husbands birthday while we were there we visited the Cyann a la carte retaurant twice. Overall the food was expensive and living in Dubai we are used to this but we did hire a car for 3 days and went out and experienced some of the local food and toured the Island visiting the Takamaka rum distillery and eating on Eden Island a few nights which was a beautiful setting (be careful if you hire a car the Island is very very hilly with thin roads and monster blue buses that dont stop for anyone). The resort is quite large and they do provide large golf buggys to ferry you around(they arrive usually at 15 minute intervals) our room was amazing we had one of the Junior suites and there was a bottle of bubbly waiting for us on ice as we arrived, it was a very well located room right next to the beach and not far from one of the pools we couldnt have chosen better ourselves. If you visit Seychelles I would also recommend not only seeing Victoria the capital which is quite easy to see by hiring a car but also visit(by ferry) the beautiful Islands of La Digue and Praslin and drive over the causeway and see Eden Island too. We would definately recommend this resort and would go back again.

The Seychelles is renowned for being expensive and well if your doing it, you've got to do it right! Having looked at reviews and our budget we booked with Seyexclusive in the UK, for 3 nights in Constance and honestly I could have lived there... it was sensational... we had a superior room which was actually nicer than my house... with all the mod cons you could want. The rooms were situated just off the beach, and my word what a beach - its absolutely to die for! Make sure you stay on the north as that's the better beach! Now we knew before booking that the hotels have inflated prices so were well prepared and there were no surprises (well maybe one which was £3 for a bottle of water) but hey! Honestly you pay for quality and my word did they deliver - the food was excellent, the facilities were top notch and I have to say the Staff - WOW! I have never seen such friendly staff anywhere in the world... it was amazing! Smiles all around and extremely friendly... All credit to them - they made the experience even better - oh and love the golf buggies as a means of transport - brilliant. They also have some great pools, walks and giant toitoises on site... The Diving was also very professional and although probably a bit more expensive than local dive schools in town - it is just worth the non hassle factor...

Overall I can't rate this hotel any higher - and if I had the money I would be back tomorrow.

Reviews do seem to also put the 4 seasons up high, and from what I was told it is great, but there is no reason to pay that kind of money when the Constance is this good!

We have just been on our second Seychelle trip, this time island hopping and staying on three beautiful islands, Praslin, La Digue and Mahe, where we had the highlight of our holiday at the Constance Ephelia resort in Mahe, our last stop. We had a once-in-a-lifetime experience staying in one of the Hillside Villas overlooking the North beach, absolutely picturesque! Needless to say, we spent a lot of time in our private rim flow pool and every photo we took was a postcard image. We explored both the South and North beaches, as well as the other beaches in and around the resort. We also went for a diving and snorkelling excursion at Conception Island – a great experience, white tip sharks and all! Although the resort is big, you never had a feeling of too many people around, including on the beaches, as the layout and the various restaurants available, together with the friendly and welcoming staff, made it a much personalised experience. It became clear to us that the philosophy of Constance Ephelia is evident in that the staff truly wish to make a person’s stay there special and memorable. We also had such a great experience having the special Lobster dinner on the beach at Seselwa, excellent food, not to neglect all the other wonderful food experiences we had at the other restaurants! Too much food and variety may be the only complaint ;-)… The Spa also comes highly recommended, we had a couple’s aromatherapy massage and this was one of our best Spa experiences ever! All in all, it was sad to leave but we wish to return some day or to visit one of the other Constance group resorts, all situated in paradise.

Room Tip: Hillside Villas highly recommended!

We spent 5 days here as part of our honeymoon in a Junior Suite. The room was lovely and we have a lovely view of the beach. There are 2 beaches - North (better for watersports) and South where the Junior Suites are based. The hotel is very nicely done and although it is a huge complex ( you need a shuttle buggy to get from one end to the next) you don't really feel like there are crowds of people around.

The spa was amazing!!! would definitely recommend. The fitness centre too was very well equipped.

Food wise - we ate in each of the 5 restaurants as part of our half board package but ended up spending quite a bit on alcohol and extras whilst we were there. Food was generally very good all round especially the haute cuisine restaurant Cyann. Service was efficient but perhaps lacked the friendliness of the other hotel we stayed at.

It was a lovely hotel but be prepared for lots of additional expenses once you are there.

I have just returned from my first holiday in the Seychelles which was totally amazing. The Maldives has always been my fave holiday destination, but the Seychelles is definately right up there with it !! The Island and Scenery are absolutely stunning, its such a beautiful place.
From the moment we arrived we were looked after, we were checked swiftly into our rooms after the long flight from the UK, which was just perfect after all that travelling.

The resort is huge and it was full when we were there but it didn't feel overcrowded at all. You wonder where all the people have gone, but hey that is great !! The resort has been designed to be in keeping with the natural environment, North Beach is part of the National Marine Park, and there are also Mangrove Forests within the resort. Its fab for exploring and walking round. I hardly sat down on my sunlounger in 10 days as so much to explore/do.
The rooms are all really nice and smart. From the Junior Suites to the Hillside Villa's. If you can afford one of those, then definately book one - They were absolute WOW ! The scenary was totally breathtaking , the sea so green. Probably one of the most beautiful views I have ever seen in my life ! Just super cool ! Both beaches are amazing. The colour of the water on the North Beach is unlike anywhere else. I actually preferred the South Beach out of the two, as it was alot more chilled out and there was more to explore down there. There are also the cutest dogs on the beach too, that love to have a fuss and come for walks!!

The restaurants were all good - Lots to eat, and lots of puddings! It was nice to book into all the different restaurants on site. Adam & Eve was good, So was Helios, and alot of the time the buffett was my favourite as so much choice. Breakfasts were good, lots of fruit for those wanting to be healthy! One of the service was slow in Helios one of the days, but it was rectified immediately, and they even decorated our table for us on our last night, and made a bit of a fuss, which was a nice touch !

The resort also has some lovely walks , not many guests explore the hidden paths and beaches so sometimes you get the whole beach to yourself. The views are fabulous. I enjoyed looking at all the different sea life on the trails - Saw a sea snake, conch shells, parrot fish. We did the Ros Lepa Walk - which was a bit mysterious , to a hidden beach at the bottom. I don't think my iphone has taken so many pictures !!

The Lans Angle and Lans Koken beaches are beautiful as well and hot !! Crystal Clear waters.

Drinks prices are expensive, but there is a little shop just outside of the North Gate where you can pick up drinks for alot cheaper if you want to.. Our room bill wasn't actually that bad, at the end, plus we had spa treatments.

I was sad to leave ! and would definately like to return and visit other Constance properties in the future.

We have just come from this resort in the Seychelles, leaving on the 14th of May. The resort is in a really beautiful location in a remote corner of the main island mahe. The resort is surrounded by lush forest and is kept in a pristine state, with no litter evident even on the beaches. It is one of the best natural locations we have stayed at in over 40 yrs of travel. We stayed in a beach front villa, which was also very good. If you are a couple make sure to stay in south beach side, as families and kids all are in north and at far south end, as this is quiet spot.
The resort has five resturants, with cyan being only one to pay on top of HB. Cyan has best service by far and food, but expect to pay about hundred GB pounds on top of your HB fee for a night there. The other resturants all serve good food, which is mainly a mixture of different buffets most nights. Wine can be had reasonably for about 20 GB pounds a bottle, if you stick to the South African brands and well away from the French wines which all seem upwards of about 100 GB pounds a bottle.
Service, this is where the resort score below par. The resturants and bars all have enough staff, but they are poorly managed. Expect to ask several times for basic things like coffee or tea to be delivered, expect long waits for wine to arrive, expect strange faces when asked to be seated for two at breakfast as it seems impossible to seat you even if they could only split an unused table for four. The service is not terrible just irritating. The main bar it seems hard to get a drink, then hard to get the bill, just annoying. For a resort of this class, the management needs to get its act together and have managers at each resturant making sure staff are not idling their days away. I spoke to few others who stayed here who also felt the same.
I also did a number of scuba dives, these were good with enough sea life to make interesting. Visibility was quite good and team was good and helpful.
I almost missed check in, apologies for not at start. This was bit farcical. We arrived in morning, by surprised staff, why this should be case as this flight comes several times a week. They then said no room until two m to all of us. We were all weary due to long flight and surprised as folks vacating rooms obviously left much earlier to catch return flight we had come in on. After some grumbling, all of us then got rooms in about ten minutes flat. Again shows bad management and organisation.
All in all do go, as the location is amazing, but you will need patience with regards to service.
