“Beautiful Sea of Galilee”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

We had a rental car and took advantage of the opportunity to drive and visit the many historical sights all the way around the lake. We spent one day visiting all the places along the lake. On the second day we drove up into the Golan Heights and saw so many amazing sights! What a beautiful part of Israel to visit!

“Perfect for All”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

Whether you are on a spiritual pilgrimage, a historical tour or just vacationing, the Sea of Galilee will have something to offer. It is definitely the highlight of the area. I was with a tour group and we were able to take a boat ride from one side to the other. It was truly a wonderful experience. The water can be totally calm one minute and then filled with white caps and waves the next. We got to experience that transition and it was most enjoyable!

“still magnificent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

When you drive into Tiberias from Bet Shean and catch your first glimpse of the sea of Galilee, you are lost for words. The sea of Galilee as it was known in biblical times or Lake Kinneret as it is known in Israel today, by any name is a truly magnificent body of water. The water appears to spread on for miles and is calm and busy at the same time. We drove around the lake on highway 90 and just appreciated this historical lake. On this lake, Jesus called the first apostles: Peter, Andrew, James and John, to follow him. This was also where Jesus walked on water, calmed the storm and helped the disciples catch a lot of fish. He also fed the five thousand with five loaves of bread and two fish on the shores of this Sea (or Lake). There are lots of activities going on swimming, jet skiing, fishing, boat rides, meditation. We went swimming in the lake on a little beach on the outskirts of Tiberias ....if you plan to do this bring a pair of good water shoes along, the lake bed has lot's of rocks, pebbles and stones. The water was just what we needed to cool down on a very hot day. Today, the sea of Galilee supplies about 30% of Israel's drinking water!! It was important in Jesus' time and is still as important today, truly something spiritual is going on here.

“Wonderful to see a part of history”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013

The Sea of Galilee has been noted in much of biblical history, so it was an incredible site to finally see it firsthand. It is a lovely lake, and still important to this day, for the fresh water that it provides to Israel. As we rode around it, I enjoyed seeing many of the sites and from each one being to look down to the lake. So much history here!

“A great place for history, recreation and eating.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

We enjoyed our day driving around the Sea of Galilee. Our guide took us to a wonderful somewhat hidden restaurant. on the shore. Excellent service for a reasonable price. There is so much biblical history and is well worth the trip - take a good guide with you.
