“Good hotel but expensive WiFi and buffet bunfights.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2012

We stayed at the Leonardo Plaza earlier on this week. We were part of a large organised tour group and the hotel, although initially getting our key cards muddled, catered very well for us.

Rooms were spacious and well equipped. Others in our group commented that it was quite something to awaken and look out on a view over the Sea of Galilee. Our room faced the back of the property but had an adequate balcony.

Grumbles were that WiFi was expensive and the location, although good for most people was a little too noisy for us. It is right on a commercialised boardwalk.

Dinner and breakfast were provided as buffets. Quality was good but there were many other organised tours at the hotel at the same time. These were mostly religious groups. It seemed to be the Americans who were very pushy at the buffets and this detracted from our own experience.

Would we stay there again? Certainly. The standards of accommodation, food and other hotel facilities were very good indeed. The only reason that we didn't give it five stars was the cost of the WiFi and the pushy Yanks.

Room Tip: Go for the 'front' of the hotel and use the service elevator if the main ones are busy.

If your visiting the Galilee, Leonardo Plaza is a great place to stay. The location is perfect, with an incredible view overlooking the Kinneret, and close to various hiking trails and attractions. The meals were excellent as well. A very enjoyable stay!

We just came back from an awesome family trip to Israel. Each hotel that we stayed in was lovely and clean. Then we arrived at this FILTHY hotel---What a DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!! We had 3 "deluxe" rooms which were expensive. Each was worse than the other. In one room the third bed was broken and could not be used. Our sink was completely stuffed up-the water was overflowing. We had to call maintenance 3 times before anything was fixed. The bathroom floors looked like they were never cleaned. The outside areas were also dirty. The breakfast was a disappointment.
NEVER AGAIN WOULD WE STAY HERE! from M. Landau-New York

Just finished a trip to Israel. Low point of the trip were the two nights at the Leonardo. Hotel is exceptionally tired/ old / dirty. Clearly there has been limited investment in the property. WiFi is not free and is charged on a per device basis. I had called maintenace in regard to poor A/C and attitude was unprofessional.

I suggest looking elsewhere.

The hotel is ill maintained with peeling paints on the hallway. Room is average. Buffet breakfast and dinner is also average with slow service. The only good thing is the hotel is right by the sea of galilee and has a good view of Golan Heights.

We do our homework and pick solid places (of course you get what you pay for and this did not come inexpensively). The location was right in the middle of the Tiberias action (ie promenade). Large, clean room and excellent brekkie.

In Tiberias, near the Sea of Galilee, a nice room with a view of the Golan Hights and the Sea of Galilee. excellent service. We had a very pleasant vacation in this hotel in the middle of the summer - the only drawback was the over crowded dining room.
