About 100 metres farther south from the Tiberias Hot Springs Spa is the Hamat Gader Park, whose mineralized hot springs feed the pools over at the spa. For 91 NIS (£16) the whole day, you gain access to a hodge-podge of things: outdoor public hot springs, waterfalls, a petting zoo, ruins of an old Roman bath and an alligator pool! Swimming at the natural hot springs is good for your health. Swimming at the alligator park is bad for your health. Learn the distinction: hot springs = good; alligator pool = bad.
By and large, a nice place to visit. There's always something for everyone. I bet it would be good for families with kids. But sad to say that the place is run down and overrun by people. As if the entire population of Tiberias came and never left. People litter everywhere. It's not conducive to relaxing anymore. (The Hot Springs Spa up the road is looking better already.)
