If you want somewhere to stay, The Berger Hotel offers a good price. Some of the rooms are big with balconies. But some are really small. Some rooms are clean and other dirty. We wrote to the hotel when booking half a year in advance, that we wanted a quit, big and clean room. We repeated our request a few weeks before arriving. We were to stay there for 5 nights. We got a small room, dirty, bathroom with a lot of ants plus traffic was very heavy along the main road outside our room. We asked if we could change room and we had a much better room. All the same: the fridge was filthy even here andso was the water boiler. We never wanted to use it.

The breakfast was decent enough. If you're looking for cheap hotel and just a place to sleep for the night Berger offers perhaps the best price in the area.

Room Tip: Be there early and ask to see your room in advance!

My wife and I stayed at the Berger in late November 2011. The price was very reasonable (NIS 250/night) for a fairly large room with twin beds and balcony from which the Kinneret was visible.
The heating was fine (not always the case in hotels in the north of Israel), the bathroom fully functional and clean, and the manager was extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast was particularly good, with a large choice of fish, eggs, bread, cereals, etc.

Room Tip: The balcony with view of the Sea of Kinneret was a plus.

Stayed in the hotel just before Christmas. Hotel rooms are comfortable and clean and the management are friendly and helpful, anyone who has traveled in Israel knows that this is not the norm.
Breakfast is a buffet of cheeses, breads, eggs and salads. All kosher, so no milk and meat.
Free parking on site and only a short trip to the Sea of Galilee, you can see it from the balconies at the front of the hotel.
We will stay there again when we next visit.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the front if you want the views, a room at the back if you want quiet nights.

We've done a round trip in Israel with my fiancee and we spent 2 nights in the Hotel Berger. To have a place where you'd like to sleep and have a breakfast close to the downtown of Tiberias it is not a bad choice, though be prepared it is closer to a youth hostel quality. Not the cleanest place I've ever been and the sealant is not perfect neither, hence you hear the noisy main road from early morning until late night. However, it's a very cheap accomodation so if your budget is tight then it's a good choice and actually the breakfast was also quite good for that price level.

I stayed there for one night only, and my experience is based on only sleeping there. The room wasn't very fancy but the beds were very comfortable and clean, so I had a great night. The bathroom was clean but in need of some updating, like some caulking and new tiles perhaps. But I stress that it was clean and fresh.

Breakfast wasn't bad either, not a fancy layout but comfortable enough to leave full. fresh pancakes coming out every few minutes and a good omelet on request, freshly cut vegetables and good bread and coffee.
