Kursi is an archaeological site and also a Christian place of pilgrimage on the north-east cost of the Sea of Galilee; you should be modestly dressed to visit, which means shoulders and thighs covered both for men and women. According to tradition, this is the place where Jesus expelled demons from a man, they got into some nearby swines that rushed into the lake and drowned.
There are the ruins of a large V - VI century church, with lovely mosaics depicting leaves, fruits and a couple of birds (these, on the left side aisle); near the church, there are two shaded areas with seats for prayer or meditation, as well as a conic stone you can roll over sand inscribing the part of the Gospels where the miracle is told. There is also a path leading uphill to the ruins of a small chapel with more mosaics and a wonderful view over the church and the Sea of Galilee.
