“Great stay at the Ramada”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2012 via mobile

WeStayed for two nights as part of the winter getaways promo- two nights, two breakfasts and one dinner for $129 a night! Arrival: finding the hotel was easy, really nicely decorated entrance and common areas. Check in took almost half an hour because they had made a mistake with the reservation (this was expected, having booked thru the american site). We went up to our room (1309) which was small, but perfectly fine. Small kitchenette, couch bed which was made up for us, big balcony with amazing views, dining table for two, two tvs, small bedroom, but very pretty. Breakfast both days was very nice, but lacking in the sweet items- aside from a variety of pastries: no pancakes, waffles, oatmeal, etc. But lots of savory items and salads, etc. Gym was really nice as well, personal trainer man to assist you, fresh fruit, good machines. The pool was closed we think (it looked pretty deserted and dirty), wish they would mention that on the website. Dinner was also great, lots of entrees and sides- huge variety. But also a little weak on desserts. Service was great at breakfast, the waiter brought us drinks and refilled without our asking- he seemd to know what everyone needed. Also front desk staff were very accomodating. Overall a great stay!

We arrived when it first opened, so we allowed for a few glitches here and there ... i.e: room was not cleaned & kitchen was missing mugs, etc..However, the staff was apologetic and tried to compensate . Overall, hotel is beautiful and we enjoyed the room & the facilities. The staff that we selectively interacted with was really nice & the boys at the spa were yum!!! One of the managers, however, on several occasions was extremely arrogant and unprofessional. She had promised to continue charging us the same rate we were paying if we would extend our stay. Then once we had made arrangements to do so, she coldly refused. We had to go over her head and negotiate - it was very unpleasant & we did not appreciate having to avoid her when she would be lounging like royalty at the pool (really unprofessional ). I can understand other reviewers for being critical of the service - the hotel advertises itself as a 5 star - and it doesn't uphold those standards from a European or American perspective. Still , lovely, clean hotel with great views of the ocean - but needs improvement in terms of customer service.

Unfortunately because of lack of hotels in Netanya, the standard is not good and overpriced
Staff are not trained properly too deal with customers. The atmosphere of the hotel is not pleasant.
What is the point investing millions in new hotel without investing in the staff.
A good hotel attempts to make you feel at home away from home.
The rooms are ok, the bedroom is too small and the lounge is adequate. Balcony is nice. View was good of the ocean. The ac was not working some of the time.
There is too much distance between staff and guests. Making the guest feel alienated and making the atmosphere cold. During our stay, there were a few problems. They were said to be teething problems as the hotel was new.
Fair enough if you are charging teething problem prices. If you are charging proper 5 star prices, you should deliver accordingly or give a discount till you get you're act together!
Most important thing if this hotel wants too improve is too do something about the cold atmosphere.
Meaning they should invest more in staff that are trained to make the guests feel welcome

We stayed at the Ramada hotel for two weeks and could find no fault. The hotel is brand new and has everything you could ask for, a great pool, gym and full spa (at extra cost). The rooms are all suites with living room and kitchenette and separate bed rooms and bathrooms. We had a two double bedroom suite with a bath room which had a great rain forest shower and a full size bath, our suite also had a second toilet and wash basin. There were three flat screen TVs, one for each bedroom and one in the living room. The living room sofa converted to a double bed so could sleep 6 people in total.

The rooms were cleaned everyday and the staff were very polite and helpful. Breakfasts were fantastic and we ate dinner there on Friday night when there was an incredible buffet ranging from sushi to steak. Although prices are what you would expect from a high class establishment. We also ate at the lounge bar where food is less expensive but stil the same high quality.

There are wonderful sea views from the balcony and the beach is just a few minutes walk away, down steps or via a roadway.

We have stayed at a number of hotels in Netanya from budget to boutique and none of them can compare to the Ramada - we've already booked to go back next year.

Room Tip: Rooms on the south side get the sun whereas the north side is cooler.

We stayed in the ramada as a family for part of the holiday of sukkot. The location is great with a gorgeous beach right across the street. We spent several days at the pool where they had these huge circular bed/cabanas with shades and lots of seating. We have traveled a lot and have usually seen these type of "beds" being rented out at hundreds of dollars a day and these were free.
The food was truly the best we have ever had in any hotels. A little weak in the dessert department but the salads, breads, meat, chicken etc-omg! We have been in many israeli hotels and have never had a salad bar like this. I wanted to photograph the salads to be able to replicate at home. I think they cater to a Sephardic /Morrican crowd so they had some pretty unusual dishes.
We were in a two bedroom suite with a nice balcony. There were two bathrooms but only one had a tub and shower. That was really crowded for five people. What was strange was that the bathroom that had a only a toilet and sink was a large empty room that could easily have held a tub and shower.
We had to work really hard at not allowing the staff to ruin our stay. They were incredibly unhelpful and conniving so watch out. Firstly, I am allergic to feathers and they only had feather pillows and comforters. This hasn't been a problem for me in ages since the hotels nowadays have feathers which have been washed and are hypoallergenic. I asked for synthetic pillows and sheets and essentially spent an entire day with this person saying they brought it to my room, another saying that they told someone else to bring it only to find out that the hotel doesn't own any comforters without feathers. Secondly, the two bedrooms both had keyholes with no locks. That took an entire day do back and forth asking only to find out that they have no keys. That's right, the bedroom doors were made with keyholes but there are no keys for them. Thirdly, we were eating holiday meals in the restaurant and what went on was horrific. They had us by the balls and charged us an enormous amount for the first meal. We then found out that they essentially give different rates to different people. We were able to negotiate with them and pay 1/4 of what we had originally. All the while the staff is talking in Hebrew not knowing that I speak the language, and making up prices. You shouldn't have to negotiate for meals!
And then there were the little things like after we checked out and returned to pick up our luggage, we asked for water and were told to go across the street to buy water. We had small children, it was incredibly hot and they wouldn't get us or allow us to get water from the restaurant. Etc etc etc etc.
I gave the hotel four stars. Would I ever stay there again? I am not so sure. As I said we had to work hard to enjoy despite the staff.

We have just stayed in the new Ramada Suite Hotel in Netanya and we were very impressed. The apartment was spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The kitchenette was provided with tea and coffee, mugs etc. There were two bedrooms and a sofa bed in the lounge so the apartment could easily sleep 6. Beds are extremely comfortable with thick pillows and duvets. The sea view was good and very relaxing! The best thing was the food in the restaurant which was amazing, even by Israeli standards! . We felt we had the best of both worlds - all the facilities of a 5 star hotel such as pool, state-of-the-art spa etc AND we had the space and comfort of an apartment so we had somewhere to relax in the evenings if we didn't feel like going out. There are three flat screen TVs and wifi in the room. Would definitely recommend this Hotel

Room Tip: As all rooms have great sea view, take a two bed suite as they are more spacious
