This hotel claims to be 5 stars hotel. I would at most rate his hardware as 3 stars and the software (service) is 0 star hotel. We visited Israel as a group and we stayed in this hotel while we tour around Narazeth on 25th December 2012. In other hotels we will leave luggage at the front of door before we went down for breakfast so that the staff in hotel can collect our luggage to the coach. However our hotel guide said that the staff in this hotel often make mistakes and we were asked to carry the luggage to the coach ourselves after breakfast next morning. When we went to have the dinner in the hotel restaurant we experience the 0 star service. There were little customers if any in the whole restaurant except those customers from the groups. The restaurant staff were rude and we were limited to sit in certain tables though there were a lot of empty tables around. The meal was arranged as buffet. The food available was scarce, mainly vegetables. There is only one station with chicken with a hotel staff responsible to serve you. I usually ate little and the chicken did not appeal to me. I went up to that staff and said “give me a little bit”. Guess what he did. He gave me a very very small piece of chicken meat, 1cm x 1mm x 1mm. (about the size of half a toothprick). I said to him, “You are joking?” (Some workers in Isreal are very lazy and felt bored during work and they tried to make fun. Some workers in other hotels made fun of you by pretending to pour coffee on your plate of food while you asked for coffee. Of course he will stop and pour coffee into your cup finally.) However this particular chicken staff did not make any move to give me another portion of teeth. I moved on and he chased after me pretending to help me to remove some "dirt" on my plate. I think he is probably afraid that I will make a fuss after seeing me walking away. He pretended to remove “dirt” from my dish as a way to cover the embarrassment.
This hotel is said to have started building some 10+ years ago but the project was stopped in ?2010 because of unrest and sudden drop in tourism in Isreal. The building was left vacant for years and was once lived by refugees. The building was changed into a shabby condition. Years later the building was refurnished into a hotel. Now this hotel is ranked 2nd in Narazeth. The 1st hotel is a new one with little reviews especially little review in English.
So my advice to those who like to tour around in Narazeth is to find a hotel in Jerusalem and take a day trip to Narazeth without staying in Narazeth.
