“Always good to come back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013

The Best Lamb Kebab in the universe
Made by the hands of the artist chef Duhul Safdi
If heaven exists they would definitely serve there the "knafe hair with hot goat cheese" for desert
The service was good
The prices are fair
Good value for money

“Real local treat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

Looked up this small place based on recommendation we read and it stood up to the expectations and more.
The owner, Abu Ashraf, was alone in the shop, and prepared everything by himself, on the spot.
We had some local starters (hummus and salads) and continued with chicken breast, falafel and other local food.
We finished with his great Kataif, a local sweet with nuts and/or goat cheese - this is a MUST!
Prices are more than reasonable, the service though slow but very personal.
Take note: no alcoholic drinks are served, not even beers.
nevertheless: it's a real treat!

“Kebab specialty”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013

First Impressions: Remember the saying, "Never judge a book by its cover?" Well, I guess it applies to this place. The façade is not particularly appealing; it elicited the same sort of "ugh" feelings that you get when you kiss your ugly sister. (Not that I did!)

PROS: Fantastic kitchen view of the chef behind a glass wall, preparing the dishes right before your eyes, as if declaring, "I've got nothing to hide!" Great fresh salads and mezze dishes from a dozen or so choices. At £6 - £15 per entrée, it is good value for what you get. Whatever you order beforehand, leave enough room for the "piece de resistance," their house specialty: A spicy lamb kebab with pine nuts, wrapped around a large cinnamon skewer. In ample portions good enough for two, it had the heavenly melt-in-your-mouth savoury flavour. Yumm!

CONS: Beyond the lamb chops and kebabs, the other dishes do not stand out. The place is packed on weekends with visiting out-of-towners queuing outside.

Verdict: Although its downside relates to the exterior's dinginess, nothing beats it on value, authenticity, taste and ambience. Book ahead of time, especially on weekends. I'd return even just for the kebabs (or esp because...) Recommended. Grade A-minus.

“Great Meal and Yummy Salads”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013

We were celebrating a friend's 50th. The service was excellent and the salads before the main meal were absolutly yummy. I am not a big fan of labane, but the labane was so good that I took some home with me. The staff were very kind and even through in a dessert and a fire cracker to celebrate the birthday.
